I can record and playback fine, however, during playback, I lose the last couple of seconds of whatever it is I'm playing back. I have tried using wav/mp3 files but both produce the same problem. I am assuming that there is some kind of buffering problem, but I haven't got the faintest idea what/how to fix it. I have even manually updated the xmms-jack port to 0.10 in hopes that might fix it. Sadly, I still see the same problems. Is anyone successfully using JACK? To make a long story short, it all works now, thanks to the posting of John Wehle of his cxm driver. To make this driver more accessible to others (multimedia newbies like me), I asked his permission to put this driver into the ports collection. Now that the ports-freeze has ended, I have commited the driver into the ports tree: multimedia/pvr250 (I could of course have called it multimedia/cxm, sysutils/cxm, multimedia/pvr250-350 etc, but since I only had a PVR-250 I stuck with it). What does the port do right now? It installs, if all pre-requisites are fullfilled, the cxm.ko and cxm_iic.ko modules. It gives some background information about the how to check if the card works. It has a disclaimer that I'm only the port maintainer and don't know anything about the software or the cards themselves. If you have such a card, please see if you can get the card working with the port! What can go wrong: - Complaints about checksum mismatch of the hcwPVRP2.sys: run "make makesum" and try again. - ??? <- tell me and I'll try to fix it! The driver itself uses a .sys file from the commercial distribution, so it will never be easy to get it in the src tree. But then, in the ports-tree you can do whatever you want (...) I'll add a man-page (will be small) I'll add two utitilies (setchannel and setsize) Edwin -- Edwin Groothuis | Personal website: http://www.mavetju.org edwin@mavetju.org | Weblog: http://weblog.barnet.com.au/edwin/ From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Oct 16 00:43:30 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DB7E816A4CE for ; Sat, 16 Oct 2004 00:43:30 +0000 (GMT) Received: from mailout2.barnet.com.au (mailout2.barnet.com.au [218.185.88.16]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2495743D2F for ; Sat, 16 Oct 2004 00:43:30 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from edwin@mavetju.org) Received: by mailout2.barnet.com.au (Postfix, from userid 27) id 551A570742F; Sat, 16 Oct 2004 10:43:28 +1000 (EST) X-Viruscan-Id: <41706EB000007DCCC1A791@BarNet> Received: from mail2-auth.barnet.com.au (mailout2.barnet.com.au [218.185.88.16]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) Authority" (verified OK)) by mail2.barnet.com.au (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1569570742C; Sat, 16 Oct 2004 10:43:28 +1000 (EST) Received: from k7.mavetju (edwin-3.int.barnet.com.au [10.10.12.2]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) Certificate Authority" (verified OK)) by mail2-auth.barnet.com.au (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8E9BE707428; Sat, 16 Oct 2004 10:43:27 +1000 (EST) Received: by k7.mavetju (Postfix, from userid 1001) id 6ABA460E0; Sat, 16 Oct 2004 10:43:26 +1000 (EST) Date: Sat, 16 Oct 2004 10:43:26 +1000 From: Edwin Groothuis To: Julian Elischer Message-ID: <20041016004326.GO10358@k7.mavetju> References: <20041015123218.GI10358@k7.mavetju> <41701C39.4050401@elischer.org> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <41701C39.4050401@elischer.org> User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6i cc: multimedia@freebsd.org Subject: Re: PVR-250/350 driver in the ports tree X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 16 Oct 2004 00:43:31 -0000 On Fri, Oct 15, 2004 at 11:51:37AM -0700, Julian Elischer wrote: > ar there user utiities and man pages that should go with it?
