If WITHOUT_MOZILLA is defined, it should possible to build only with gtk20 installed, shouldn't it? I'm trying it at the moment (but with orbit2 - because I was not shure about orbit) but it will take some time (my CURRENT tesbox is only a PII 333....). Does the mozilla version, wich gets build by not specifying WITHOUT_MOZILLLA, support gtk20? And does Openoffice's mozoo support those gtk20 compiled addressbook libraries? Another question: Has someone tried making a WITHOUT_JAVA knob which adds --disable-java to CONFIGURE_ARGS and don't depend on jdk14? I'll try that next after the actuall build finishes. Maybe I can save some buildtime if someone allready tried that out... -- Oliver Lehmann http://www.pofo.de/ http://wishlist.ans-netz.de/ From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Aug 23 03:17:45 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DAB2C16A4CE for ; Mon, 23 Aug 2004 03:17:45 +0000 (GMT) Received: from satie.private.org (qclgw.qcl.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp [133.11.70.190]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0AED643D53 for ; Mon, 23 Aug 2004 03:17:45 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from chat95@mac.com) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by satie.private.org (8.12.10/8.12.10) with ESMTP id i7N3H04x002629; Mon, 23 Aug 2004 12:17:00 +0900 (JST) (envelope-from chat95@mac.com) Date: Mon, 23 Aug 2004 12:17:00 +0900 (JST) Message-Id: <20040823.121700.719889465.chat95@mac.com> To: lehmann@ans-netz.de From: NAKATA Maho In-Reply-To: <20040822213517.56fb0900.lehmann@ans-netz.de> References: <20040822213517.56fb0900.lehmann@ans-netz.de> Organization: private X-Mailer: Mew version 3.3 on XEmacs 21.4.14 (Reasonable Discussion) Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit cc: openoffice@freebsd.org Subject: Re: orbit gtk12 / --disable-java X-BeenThere: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting OpenOffice to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 23 Aug 2004 03:17:46 -0000 In Message-ID: <20040822213517.56fb0900.lehmann@ans-netz.de> Oliver Lehmann wrote: Hi, Oliver, > two things I've noticed. openoffice-1.1 has a dependency to orbit, gtk12 > and gtk20. And I'll cancel the build because I added Orbit2 as a dependency which I think is not needed. I can run thousands of testbuilds - the system has just a bad throughput ;) So maybe you should wait with orbit+gtk12 until the build finished... I think some of the files are made by root privilege, so OOo cannot write as user. First please remove ~/.sversionrc and ~/OpenOffice.org.1.1.2, as root, then go back to user, type % openoffice-1.1.2 and it is sufficient. user installtion starts. Hope that's the right place for my mail. I finally managed to install the precompiled package OOo-1.1.0 easily, but would of course prefer to install the more recent OOo-1.1.2 port. I'm reading the german bsd-questions and the bsd-ports mailing lists, searched google, tried to compile/install on two different boxes, tried editors/OOo-1.0.3 and editors/OOo-1.1.2 and and finally both german ports. What's wrong?? I successfuly compiled and installed OOo-1.0.3 on a fresh 4.10 Release once - on a notebook, an IBM R31; Project "FreeBSD on our IBM Notbooks" has started :-). That was the time when 1.1 was broken, so I *had* to install OOo-1.0.3. A few weeks later, on two other boxes (one IBM T-22 and another desktop), on which I updated world, compiled my own kernel - I just took the unneccessary out (RAID, SCSI, nic, etc.) and updated the ports-tree three or four times since FreeBSD-installation, compiling of 1.0.3 now brakes and installing of 1.1.2 stops right at the beginning. On both boxes I tried "make" or "make WITHOUT_MOZILLA=yes" (I read some threads ago in bsd-ports), "make WITHOUT_JAVA=yes". I'm not sure, but it seems to be no difference whether to "make" or to "make WITHOUT_MOZILLA=yes", in both cases mozilla seems to be built!? To build Openoffice, you should have a lot of free diskspace (~ 4GB). First I didn't understand what you would like to do, and very sorry, but forgot to add `submitted by:' so I have done two commits. And also I found some other misses in Makefile in openoffice 1.1-devel... thank you very much again for your contribution! --nakata maho From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Aug 27 07:17:49 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 676CD16A4CE for ; Fri, 27 Aug 2004 07:17:49 +0000 (GMT) Received: from dsl-mail.kamp.net (mail.kamp-dsl.de [195.62.99.42]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 3D5EB43D31 for ; Fri, 27 Aug 2004 07:17:48 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from root@pukruppa.de) Received: (qmail 29832 invoked by uid 513); 27 Aug 2004 07:21:56 -0000 Received: from root@pukruppa.de by dsl-mail by uid 89 with qmail-scanner-1.21 Clear:RC:1(213.146.114.24):SA:0(-4.9/5.0):. Just in case sombody is interested: It is possible to run recent Linux binaries on FreeBSD 5.3-* in Linux emulation. I have /emulators/linux_base-8 /x11-toolkits/linux-gtk2 /x11-toolkits/linux-pango /accessibility/linux-atk /devel/linux-glib2 installed and I tried this with OOo_1.1.2_LinuxIntel_install_de.tar.gz and OOo_1.9m49_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz from OpenOffice.org's ftp mirrors. I didn't succeed in installing the .rpm packages coming with OOo_*_native_*.tar.gz, though it would be interesting to know, how to do this. Yes I know it and Linux version startups much faster, you know. > OOo_1.1.2_LinuxIntel_install_de.tar.gz I haven't confirmed yet. > OOo_1.9m49_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz it also runs under FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE with linux_base (not 8). > I didn't succeed in installing the .rpm packages coming with > OOo_*_native_*.tar.gz, though it would be interesting to know, > how to do this. it is just a same as normal ones. just packaging method is different. --nakata maho
