We have 2 2650s and 3 2550s and some other misc boxes running 4.9-STABLE as of Feb 9 or Mar 19, and they've all been behaving well (one unexplained reboot, but on slightly twitchy hardware..) We don't use the bge driver on the 2550s, as we couldn't get it to behave OK, but other than that things seem to be OK. David. I meant 30+ days... We had tried 5.2 with the Dells, then 5.2.1 was released during our problem time. We tried that too. We unfortunately didn't have time to troubleshoot much, we had thousands of E-mail backing up for days. The heavy load was processing about 7000 E-mail's an hours for Virus and spam. We had a Quad Xeon Compaq only able to handle about 2500/hr. The Dells were doing great, they just kep locking up or rebooting. We upgraded to a Compaq Dual 2.8GHz Xeons. It got blasted a few times, and barely mustered a load avg. of 15 when it was hit with 18,000 message/hr We will hoepfully be clustering all this in the next 9 months so we won't get caught again... ;-) Chuck On Sun, 4 Apr 2004, Jakob Breivik Grimstveit wrote: > On Sun, 2004-04-04 at 03:51, Chuck Rock wrote: > > > We finally gave up and bought a refurb Compaq, and has been running 5.2= =2E1 > > in production under heavy loads for 130+ days. > > ... which is in fact rather impressive considering 5.2.1 was released[=B9= ] > on the 25th of February, about 40 days ago. > > > [=B9] > > -- > Jakob Breivik Grimstveit, http://www.grimstveit.no/jakob, +47 48298152 > > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-smp@freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-smp > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-smp-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" > From owner-freebsd-smp@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Apr 8 01:15:20 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-smp@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 469F216A4CE for ; Thu, 8 Apr 2004 01:15:20 -0700 (PDT) Received: from mail.convergence.de (mail.convergence.de [212.84.236.4]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CBB0943D49 for ; Thu, 8 Apr 2004 01:15:19 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from listmaster@convergence.de) Received: from [10.1.1.9] (helo=listen.convergence.de) by mail.convergence.de with esmtp (TLSv1:AES256-SHA:256) (Exim 4.30) id 1BBUg5-0004Nb-Uy for smp@freebsd.org; Thu, 08 Apr 2004 10:14:25 +0200 Received: from [127.0.0.1] (helo=listen) by listen.convergence.de with esmtp (Exim 4.14) id 1BBUgq-0004FQ-Ib for smp@freebsd.org; Thu, 08 Apr 2004 10:15:12 +0200 Received: from listen by listen (ECARTIS/1.0.0); Thu, 08 Apr 2004 10:15:12 +0200 (CEST) Date: Thu, 08 Apr 2004 10:15:12 +0200 (CEST) From: convergence-listserver To: smp@freebsd.org Message-ID: X-ecartis-antiloop: listen Precedence: list Expiry-Date: Fri, 09 Apr 2004 10:15:12 +0200 (CEST) Subject: Ecartis command results: -- Binary/unsupported file stripped by Ecartis -- X-BeenThere: freebsd-smp@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 List-Id: FreeBSD SMP implementation group List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 08 Apr 2004 08:15:20 -0000 >> your friend.
