I had submitted a PR some time ago to help install linux-sun-jdk14 on amd64 which touched some linux ports including linux-expat and linux-gtk. The linux-gtk part which was commited is different from the one in the PR. The last patch in http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=ports/75852 should be able to fix this error. -- Francois Tigeot From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Feb 21 11:01:41 2005 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 87DCB16A4CE for ; Mon, 21 Feb 2005 11:01:41 +0000 (GMT) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5189043D6B for ; Mon, 21 Feb 2005 11:01:41 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (peter@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.1/8.13.1) with ESMTP id j1LB1fjY034194 for ; Mon, 21 Feb 2005 11:01:41 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: (from peter@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.1/8.13.1/Submit) id j1LB1e4I034188 for emulation@freebsd.org; Mon, 21 Feb 2005 11:01:40 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Date: Mon, 21 Feb 2005 11:01:40 GMT Message-Id: <200502211101.j1LB1e4I034188@freefall.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: freefall.freebsd.org: peter set sender to owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org using -f From: FreeBSD bugmaster To: emulation@FreeBSD.org Subject: Current problem reports assigned to you X-BeenThere: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Development of Emulators of other operating systems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 21 Feb 2005 11:01:41 -0000 Current FreeBSD problem reports Critical problems S Submitted Tracker Resp. I don't know the answer to this question, but suspect that it might be somewhere in a compiler tool-set, that one wouldn't necessarily want to have to install as a prerequisite for installing pre-compiled Acroread. I've just looked at the Makefile: what does this line buy us? Wouldn't an appropriate fix for a failing acroread port build be to simply remove the call to LINUXBASE...strip altogether? I've just looked at the Makefile: what does this line buy > us? Wouldn't an appropriate fix for a failing acroread port build be > to simply remove the call to LINUXBASE...strip altogether? A "fix" for this issue is to do nothing. The quoted line has a '-' in front if it, this means that a failure of this command isn't considered an error. Whoever put this line in was probably aware of the problem at hand. I think the more appropriate question is: what's the result of this operation (a smaller executable), and what do we gain by it (with todays harddisk sizes: nearly nothing). This is wrong, it uses the FreeBSD binary which searches the FreeBSD modules/loaders. But we need the Linux binary to search for the linux modules/loaders.
