I had this problem too last week, Pav informed me on IRC that ports-stable was required also because of the freeze. I have pkg-config and libpoppler installed here via FreeBSD 5.4 packages and tried to compile the GNUstep PopplerKit library, which runs a small shell script to configure. There it calls "pkg-config --exists poppler-splash". Unfortunately, this command outputs the line "gnome-config: not found" and just returns. I took a look at the pc file and had the impression that it must somehow be related to the "Requires" dependency line there, because when I just comment it out and put the Libs manually there like in poppler.pc, it works. However, since this is only a small bug I found when installing, I probably won't dig deeper into this and hope you know better what to do in this case. :-) With best regards, Guenther From owner-freebsd-gnome@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Aug 24 04:27:42 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: gnome@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-gnome@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 09CA916A41F for ; Wed, 24 Aug 2005 04:27:42 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from marcus@marcuscom.com) Received: from creme-brulee.marcuscom.com (creme-brulee.marcuscom.com [24.172.16.118]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9D3AB43D53 for ; Wed, 24 Aug 2005 04:27:41 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from marcus@marcuscom.com) Received: from shumai.marcuscom.com (shumai.marcuscom.com [192.168.1.4]) by creme-brulee.marcuscom.com (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id j7O4RrW2063941; Wed, 24 Aug 2005 00:27:53 -0400 (EDT) (envelope-from marcus@marcuscom.com) From: Joe Marcus Clarke To: Rene Ladan In-Reply-To: <20050823191952.GA43974@82-168-75-155-bbxl.xdsl.tiscali.nl> References: <20050823191952.GA43974@82-168-75-155-bbxl.xdsl.tiscali.nl> Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="=-mBm8UrxIfTSlm3B6Ksnp" Organization: MarcusCom, Inc. The port tree is up-to-date. Firefox support is broken in py-gnome-extras-2.10. This has been fixed in the 2.11 version which will be released along with GNOME 2.12 in early September. In the meantime, switch to using mozilla, or don't install py-gnome-extras. I recently had a slight problem installing the Python extensions. I set the --enable-python configure argument in the Makefile, and made the port and installed it. Unfortunately the Python extension cannot be used because Python can't find the library. The Python extension was installed to: /usr/X11R6/lib/python2.4/site-packages/gtk-2.0/vtemodule.so where the other GTK2 C Python extensions are installed to: /usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/gtk-2.0/ and moving the file to that location allows Python to find it. (I guess there may be a reason to put this in the /usr/X11R6 tree instead of the /usr/local tree.) I would love to fix this and send you a patch but I am very inexperienced with ports and BSD, I shall do anything I can to help though.
