I am trying to get ImageMagick 6.2.0.5, which according to freshports is the latest, but when I do "pkg_add -r ImageMagick", I get 6.0.6.2. I have run cvsups, which I believe gets me the latest ports, is there an equivalent for packages? I was under the impression that they always got the latest? As far as ports, do I just need to run cvsups to keep it up-to-date? All this is a little confusing: ports, packages, cvsups, portupgrade, etc... :-) Can someone point me to some clear docs on all this? I have spent hours looks at the freebsd docs, but it's just not clicking for me. I just want to make sure I am running the most recent version of mysql, php4, apache, etc, but am really unclear how to get and upgrade ports and packages. To build some practical skills within Unix, Networking and Security, I have made myself a case study to provide some services for a fictional corporation. I have some ( very limited ) experience with FreeBSD and have therefore choosen that as my primary server OS. I want to assure trustworthyness and integrity along the whole lifetime of the installations. Including secure installation and initial updating as well as secure destruction and sanitizing, something I feel is left out from many security-related discussions. In security-related questions regarding the whole operation I assume the worst, that my "trusted" network is already compromised, that there are remote vuln's to every program I run, that connections I make to the Internet is not to be relied upon. It's within the latter my current dilemma is. After reading countless pages on secure installation I've understood that it is highly recommended to download the newest kernel and rebuild. I'm not aware of which methods CVSup uses for authentication and encryption. Assuming that my session with updating my sources can be sniffed, hijacked, mitm-ed, or substituted from the beginning, I would have grave problems with trusting my fresh box. There is also another problem I with this; I want to keep the box completely shielded from any hostile network, including my own "trusted". This to minimize exposure to the possible undisclosed vuln's that might reside within the default installation. To sum it all up: Is it possible to download the newest source to for example a USB pen drive ( keywords: ultra-portable and super-unpredictable ), and transfer this to my isolated box, and hence updating without exposure? When you unpack and start to use that file on your machine, one of the first things that's done is to verify that the (trusted) checksum matches the calculated (by your own calculation) checksum of the actual collection of bits you got. If is doesn't, then the download was faulty or someone modified the file on the way to your machine. The chance of modifying a file while keeping the checksum unchanged is vanishingly small, especially for source code. Recently we had a power outage and when I booted up the machine again, instead of a normal boot sequence I was given an "automount" prompt. I understand that I have to mount a disk slice and fsck my hard drive (I think this is right, please correct me if I'm wrong), only its been a while since I sliced up my hard drive and I've forgotten what the disk looks like. Is there anyway of investigating the disk geometry from this automount prompt? The only commands I seem to have available are mount commands. Thanks, Dan. I recently started to learn FreeBSD UNIX and i must say that it is absolutely unbelievable. Previously i learned Linux, the accessible solution for non-Windows operating systems 'till one day when a friend of mine introduced me to the UNIX universe and from that moment on nothing mattered more than to learn and understand this collossal OS. I will also try other distributions of UNIX like OpenBSD, NetBSD, or Solaris 10. I hope i was not boring you with my stories and i would like to stay in touch with the UNIX community. Bye Chris PS: i'd like to add that i'm from Romania, i'm 23, and i'm a student. Just so you know. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! They should be posted to freebsd-questions@freebsd.org Package versions are very much dependent on the version of FreeBSD you are running. Are you tracking -STABLE, or just using a -RELEASE? -STABLE and -CURRENT packages are kept up to date, but -RELEASE packages are built to be compatible with the Ports Collection that is included on the CD. You can convince pkg-add and friends to use the -STABLE packages but I don't honestly know how well it works. Having said that: yes, you can download the entire /usr/src tree in a variety of ways. http://www.freebsd.org/support.html#cvs lists a few - you might want to carry a custom-built FreeSBIE (www.freesbie.org) CD with cvsup-without-gui installed on it to use CVS. That also gives you the security of knowing that at least there are no software security breaches on your download system. I would recommend that you don't mount the pen drive as /usr/src, but rather copy all the files (or better yet, a tarball) to /usr/src on your target system. This will probably make things faster/better. If you do mount the pen drive as /usr/src, remember to mark it noatime! (Although there was a post above noting that checksums are used, remember that if you can modify arbitrary traffic, you can modify the checksums too. See dns/dnshijacker and security/ettercap for some interesting insights.) Linux seems pretty UNIX-like to me. I used Gentoo before FreeBSD, and the transition wasn't any trouble at all. I guess a lot of Linux distributions are set up so that you don't have to see the UNIX-ness at all... but it's there. > I will also try other distributions of UNIX like OpenBSD, NetBSD, or Solaris > 10. Heh, whenever I get adventurous I start to hatch plans to install unusual operating systems, like the HURD or Plan 9... although I guess you could learn a fair amount by sampling the different unices. I learned a fair bit from the various Linux distros I tried over the years, and I've certainly learned something from my few months with FreeBSD. > I hope i was not boring you with my stories and i would like to stay in > touch with the UNIX community. I just got fed up of Winbugs (or whatever your favourite name for it is) and wanted something that didn't annoy me so much. One of my friends had a FreeBSD install disk lying around so I borrowed it and loved it. Now it is the only OS I run at home. FreeBSD is a lot of work compared to Winbugs, but its work well spent because I know a lot more about how my computer works now. And generally, once I have made something work, it will work forever more. I would consider myself a newbie as I am still learning very fast. > > Linux seems pretty UNIX-like to me. Yes. > From where can I download it ? You can browse the source online at: http://cvsweb.freebsd.org/src/sys/ You can download a snapshot of the source from one of the FTP mirrors. For example, if you download all the ssys.?? files from ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/5.3-RELEASE/src/ you can join the files and view their contents as a normal tarball: % cat ssys.?? | tar tvf - Alternatively, if you want to keep an up to date copy of the source, you may find it easier to use CVSup. There are Linux binaries of CVSup at: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/development/CVSup/binaries/ The process of obtaining the full source tree for FreeBSD would then be: - Download a binary of CVSup that works for you. - Copy a supfile from the FreeBSD samples. The source of these example supfiles can be found at: http://cvsweb.freebsd.org/src/share/examples/cvsup/ - Edit your supfile, as necessary. - Run cvsup. This should download an up to date version of the source parts you configure your supfile with. I was afraid that I couldn't maintain it cause it was so different. The whole concept of slices and different device names (ad0s1 as opposed to hda1) really scared me. I thought this was an operating system built for the gifted. But, after encouraging myself to have patience and to take my time to read more I have thoroughly enjoyed everything that FreeBSD has to offer. I have no complaints what so ever. I love this FreeBSD. Its just outstanding. I don't know what other words I can use to describe it but it is just outstanding and it has replaced linux as being my OS of choice. __________________________________ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Once Sysinstall is up and running, each attempt to begin installation ends with following message: +----------------------------- Message -----------------------------+ |No disks found! Please verify that your disk controller is being | |properly probed at boot time. See the Hardware Guide on the | |Documentation menu for clues on diagnosing this type of problem. | +-----------------------------------------------------------(100%)--+ In spite of properly(?) detected controller there is no sign of ad0 nor acd0 devices (see attached dmesg.txt). Then I tried to install it: - with ACPI disabled - in safe mode / single user mode - with every valid BIOS configuration/physical setup of drives - with hw.ata.ata_dma and/or hw.ata.atapi_dma set to 0 - with hw.pci.enable_io_modes set to 0 - after upgrading BIOS (and diagnostic partition) - with tweaked values hint.ata0.xxx and hint.ata1 - with translating of drive CHS parameters disabled - without any partitions defined (disk completely cleared) - with UDMA66 enabled and disabled (also in HDD's firmware) but I didn't succeed either... I didn't know if I whould ask on the technical list seeing as IMHO this = is a pretty n00b question. See I've got quite an extensive linux background so I figured it can't = be that difficult on freeBSD. I've played around with BSD once or twice = (back in version 3 and 4) but never for very long before giving up and = moving back to SuSE. However, this time I think i got the bull by the horns! I've migrated = all my stuff from linux to BSD (workstation wise) there's just a couple = of outstanding issues. Ie. KDM/GDM needs to work properly, as other = people use my machine for an X server. And i am currently still sorting out mailman with postfix. Which was my = own fault as to why it's not working. However, there are two things that are bugging me. Whenever I leave X, = the console seems to get darker, eventually I can't see it anymore, and = have to reboot to sort the problem out. I feel this could be video card = related - I have a GeForce 4 MX 420 with the latest NVidia drive. And I = have disabled the AGP, ACPI is also disabled otherwise X just hangs. So I was wondering if anyone has any clue as to what this might be? And second I dunno how many of you use gkrellm in windowmaker but, i = can't get it to appear on every work space. This I am sure, is a real = dumb thing on my part because i feel it must be something really simple. Other than that however, everything is going great!=20 Let me know if this is too technical for a newbie list so that I can put = it on the tech list too if need be. However, many of the installers have ncurses type of installs in addition to the nice smooth graphical install, and on top of that they even have a manual non-ncurses command line only install. :-) We can default it to text, but have an option to go graphical. It would be nice to attract more people to the platform and avoid being a niche within a niche. -- joaquin Dave Vollenweider wrote: > I'm against this idea. Why? That might be more of a direction. The focus there is more for cross-platform. But the FORMS is not very attractive, but it works. There might be something under that umbrella. The Mono project is focused heavily on mainstream platforms like Linux, MacOSX and yes Windows. If it really takes off and becomes popular, it could perhaps even circumvent MS strategy of global domination of the software industry. :-) There undoubtedly will be momentum to port it to the BSDs, and since MacOSX is bsd-like, this is more hopeful. In the mean time, if I could get my X to work like I want it to, then I'll try more fun stuff like this... -- Joaquin From owner-freebsd-newbies@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Mar 10 02:07:52 2005 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-newbies@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 284D916A4CE for ; Thu, 10 Mar 2005 02:07:52 +0000 (GMT) Received: from mail.sancho2k.net (spruell.dsl.xmission.com [166.70.24.187]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B1F2B43D1D for ; Thu, 10 Mar 2005 02:07:50 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from lists@sancho2k.net) Received: (qmail 8168 invoked by uid 1011); 10 Mar 2005 02:07:50 -0000 Received: from 10.0.1.4 by molodetz.sancho2k.net (envelope-from , uid 1004) with qmail-scanner-1.24 (clamdscan: 0.80/680. spamassassin: 2.64. Of all Unix-like OSes available, FreeBSD doesn't have to worry about attracting users. People use freebsd because it rocks, and it does what it does good, and you really can't ask for more than that. OK, you can, but you're getting petty. Step back for a moment and ask if the current installer is crippling because it's not smooth and graphical -- honestly, it's brainboggling how easy your installations are when you take out the need for a mouse and buttons and sectioned-off screens. I've used several of the pretty Linux distros. I've never considered any of the ease-of-use shortcut tools from vendors like red hat useful, nor has a graphical installer turned me on in the least. I have been a long time user of OpenBSD. Their camp is raw, sometimes unfriendly, but always strong and simple. Maybe it doesn't attempt to attract the newbies, but my personal belief is that making your OS too newbie-friendly takes away from the simple pureness that is one of *BSD's greatest strengths and drags it down. If I wanted a shiny happy OS, I'd stick to Windows. It's not like there aren't options out there that are newbie friendly; even a literate, attentive, and curious *nix newbie can pick up FreeBSD without much effort, even without the other fluff. In all honesty, I use both FreeBSD and OpenBSD because they are straighforward, no-nonsense, and raw. This doesn't mean they are hard. I realize my response probably seems a little inflamatory and I apologize for this, it's not the intention. (You did ask for "any thoughts".) But I don't like the idea of an OS that tries to be all things for all people. WD, thanks for this tutorial. If I can suggest something, add a section about CUPS and the printer database (I was missing a link that caused no printer to appear in kprinter...) Joaquin, to come back to sysinstall, it does its job even on a 386 and a raw VGA card. It may sound like Cro-Magnon technology but is still used in the industry... I was surprised too when I first ran it but it does its job. Anyway, a text-based install makes sense: BSD is a console-level system, on top of which runs an X server (at least for desktops). X is not part of the base system. sysinstall could be "dressed up" using curses to simulate a graphics install but what would it buy us? I am right now running an out-of-the-box 5.3-RELEASE kernel. I noticed that some kernel modules I use are missing in the GENERIC kernel configuration file (such as ext2fs and snd_emu10k1). I am worrying that these features will not work if I install a new kernel. Of course, I could just try and restore the old kernel, if not. With Linux, there is a solution to get the current kernel configuration (in /proc/config.gz). Is there such a thing under FreeBSD? I admit I haven't yet quite understood how the kernel recompilation works. How do I configure features as a module? Also, there are some features, which don't seem to be documented... at least not in the NOTES file. ext2fs is an example. Is there a comprehensive list anywhere? You should be sending them to freebsd-questions@freebsd.org instead. However, I'll do my best to help you out. Features like ext2fs (and, in fact, any file system that you don't want to boot off), snd_emu101k, and just about anything that goes in your kernel config (there are some notable exceptions, and you shouldn't leave out anything that you need to get your machine booting) can be left out of your kernel config file and instead loaded as modules. When you compile a kernel, it's a bit different to Linux, in that EVERY kernel module gets compiled and can (usually) be kldloaded later. This means that the compile takes a bit longer but you often don't have to recompile to add things like new sound cards or network cards. When you're reading the NOTES file, remember to read both /usr/src/sys/conf/NOTES and /usr/src/sys//conf/NOTES, as there are options that are common across architectures (like ALTQ) and then those that are specific to various architectures. I'm aware that the above doesn't make a whole heap of sense, particularly if you come from a Linux kernel background. I learned FreeBSD first, and I think it will probably help if you can forget everything you think that you know about compiling kernels. Also, I've been at the GNOME 2.10 Release Party here in Perth, so there may be factual errors in things that I've written (listen out for us on LUGRadio, though!) I've just spent some head scratching time getting my Epson Stylus Photo R200 working with FreeBSD. I also went the lpr route and set up a basic /etc/printcap file for it and pointed gimp-print at it as I only really needed, initially, to print from the Gimp. The head scratching was caused by assuming that the printer device was /dev/ulpt0. It's not. It's /dev/unlpt0. The 'n' is for no-reset. Using /dev/ulpt0 just prints garbled text instead of the graphics I was sending. For text, I've got an HPLJ5M with postscript so that was a doddle, even down to using the network interface to print :-0 Thanks to Ted for the pointers to using apsfilter/ghostscript/ijs/gimp-print too. The ISP claims it's version 4.10, but when I do a "uname -a" I get the following: FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE #0: Fri Nov 12 09:18:00 PST 2004 root@:/usr/src/sys/compile/IPW i386 This leads me to beleive it's 4.8. Using /stand/sysinstall I performed and upgrade to 4.10-RELEASE (selecting the Developer package). Code and binary was downloaded through passive ftp from ftp2.freebsd.org and everything looked to go well. I got a confirmation saying I simply needed to exit the install and I would be in the upgraded version. After exiting the install, uname command returns the same results as before (4.8-RELEASE). I did notice that when I return to sysinstall it's in pretty colors now, however, when I go to the "Options" I see that the Release Name is still defaulting to 4.8 Did the upgrade really work? I am accessing this machine via SSH. Last time I tried such an upgrade, I had a problem getting back into the machine once I logged out. The SSH daemon was unable to start, complaining about "PRNG not seeded". __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I have a little problem here. I'm going to have two employees here who are making calls with skype. There is a router (FreeBSD 5.3) and a NAT-ed network. Internet is accessed via ppp (DSL line). When the network is loaded heavily, skype is breaking up. Is there any way to configure my router to prioritize packets for skype users? The speed of incoming traffic cannot be limited efficiently, am I wrong? What I probably need is to limit bandwidth and/or set packet priority by port number. I'm not sure about the protcocol of Skype in this case because we would like to use it to make calls to regular phone numbers. I'm not really new to ipfw but what I have now is a configuration that was changed from an example. Any URL pointing to the right place will be appreciated. This sounds like a job for some prioritization queues, you might look at dummynet for resources on doing this. It is also available at http://people.freebsd.org/~sue/newbies/fak.html FreeBSD-Questions@FreeBSD.ORG is the place to send all questions about installing, configuring, running and using FreeBSD. All help requests are handled by FreeBSD-Questions, including newbies questions. It is particularly important to send all installation questions and answers to FreeBSD-Questions so that they only appear in one place. FreeBSD-Newbies is different. We don't ask for FreeBSD help or answer how-to questions. It is a discussion forum for newbies. FreeBSD-Newbies provides a place for new FreeBSD users to meet and covers any of the activities of newbies that are not already dealt with elsewhere. Examples include helping each other to learn more on our own, finding and using resources, problem solving techniques, how to seek help elsewhere, how to use mailing lists and which lists to use, general chat, making mistakes, boasting, sharing ideas, stories, moral (but not technical) support, and taking an active part in the FreeBSD community. We take our problems and support questions to freebsd-questions, and use freebsd-newbies to meet others who are doing the same things that we do as newbies. We can help people to use the FreeBSD mailing lists and resources, or to interact more productively with the broader FreeBSD community. These are not support questions, and not technical, so we deal with them here. Everyone can help with these new user orientation requests. One of the things we do together is learn more effective ways to find help when we need it. Here are some suggestions: When something doesn't work the way you expect 1. First look at the errata for your release of FreeBSD at http://www.FreeBSD.ORG/releases/ for the latest information and security advisories. 2. Search the Handbook, FAQ, and mail archives at http://www.FreeBSD.ORG/search/search.html 3. If you still have a question or problem, collect the output of `uname -a' and of any relevant program(s) and email your question to FreeBSD-questions@FreeBSD.ORG. Mailing lists When you have a problem that you can't solve by yourself, there's only one support mailing list and that's FreeBSD-questions@FreeBSD.ORG. FreeBSD-questions helps with installation and basic setup as well as more general and advanced questions. You don't have to actually join freebsd-questions before asking a question there. Replies to your question will normally be sent to you personally as well as to the list. Just make sure you have read and followed the guidelines for posting, because you might find them different to what you're used to. If you do subscribe to freebsd-questions you'll have the advantage of seeing all of the recent questions and their answers. Before you post to FreeBSD-questions, please read the guidelines at http://www.lemis.com/questions.html Many of the people who answer FreeBSD-questions are very knowledgeable, but they get frustrated when they get questions which are difficult to understand. http://www.lemis.com/email.html is worth reading too. If you're not sure that you can follow these guidelines, come back and ask the other newbies for help on how to post an effective question to the support mailing list. Maybe your question has been asked before. If you search the mailing list archives at http://www.freebsd.org/search/search.html first you might get the answer right away. It's always worth trying. Other mailing lists (http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/eresources.html#ERESOURCES-CHARTERS) cover specialised areas and many are more developer-oriented. You'll need to read their charters carefully before participating, but it's probably a good idea to ask on either -newbies or -questions for advice about where to post a more specialised question. FreeBSD-announce is a very low volume read-only list for occasional announcements, such as notice of new releases, and the Really Quick Newsletter. It's worth subscribing to FreeBSD-announce too. Manuals You'll always be expected to show that you have made some effort to use the available documentation before asking for help. That's not always as easy as it sounds! If you know what documentation you need but can't locate it, send a brief query to FreeBSD-questions. If you don't know what you need, always have trouble finding it, or can't make any sense of it when you do, ask some patient newbies to steer you in the right direction. Anyone interested in writing or reviewing documentation for FreeBSD is encouraged to join the FreeBSD Documentation Project. Details are at http://www.freebsd.org/docproj/docproj.html Other resources A resource list is available at http://www.freebsd.org/projects/newbies.html to help new and inexperienced FreeBSD users to find relevant information quickly. It includes books, on line documents and tutorials, and links to web pages that other newbies have found useful for learning. If you have a suggestion for good material to be included, please write to freebsd-newbies and tell us about it. But I have seen people asking questions here! It is quite common for people to send the wrong kind of post to a mailing list. Because we're newbies it'll certainly happen here from time to time. The best thing to do if you see a message that doesn't belong on a list is to ignore it. There's always someone around whose job it is to sort these problems out privately. The posts to the lists go straight through, whatever their content. It is going to be confusing for a little while because we're all newbies so we all make mistakes. That's OK. One thing we're going to see a fair bit is people posting questions, believing they're doing the right thing by posting here as newbies, not realising how it works. If someone answers those questions the situation will snowball. There's nothing wrong with helping someone to redirect their question to freebsd-questions, but please do so gently. There's nothing wrong with the occasional mistake either. So all questions, requests for help, etc still go to freebsd-questions as usual. Ours is more of a discussion group, a place where newbies can relax with other newbies and focus more on our successes than on our temporary imperfection. We can talk about things here that are not allowed on freebsd-questions. We're also a bit freer to make the mistakes that we need to make in order to learn. _________________________________________________________________ Mailing list membership To Subscribe to FreeBSD-Newbies: Use the easy form at http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-newbies to subscribe to the FreeBSD-Newbies mailing list, or to change your subscription details if you are already a member. If you give them FTP access you can chroot them by placing their name in /etc/ftpchroot. If you want SSH access, you could use something like chrootssh or another of many similar utils. For some reason the installer is not handling > the output from my KVM switch. The model is IOGear > MiniView(tm) II USB KVM Model # GCS124U. I have a IOGear MiniView KVM too and when I tired to install FreeBSD 5.3, I had the same problem. After I did a little googleing, I found the answer. When you first boot with FreeBSD 5.3 bootable CD-ROM, wait for the FreeBSD boot menu to appear and choose option number 6. Then at the OK prompt, type the following and hit the enter key. set hint.atkbd.0.flags="0x1" Note the Quote makes are needed. At the next OK prompt, type boot And the system should boot to sysinstall menu where you will find the USB keyboard working. At least that is what work for me. Hope this helps, Andrew From owner-freebsd-newbies@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Mar 12 08:19:00 2005 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-newbies@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1E91316A4CE for ; Sat, 12 Mar 2005 08:19:00 +0000 (GMT) Received: from relay.rdsnet.ro (gimli.rdsnet.ro [193.231.236.70]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id C0C8A43D3F for ; Sat, 12 Mar 2005 08:18:58 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from itetcu@people.tecnik93.com) Received: (qmail 27763 invoked from network); 12 Mar 2005 08:13:22 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO smtp.rdsnet.ro) (62.231.74.130) by smtp1-133.rdsnet.ro with SMTP; 12 Mar 2005 08:13:22 -0000 Received: (qmail 16968 invoked by uid 89); 12 Mar 2005 08:25:34 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO it.buh.tecnik93.com) (81.196.204.98) by 0 with SMTP; 12 Mar 2005 08:25:34 -0000 Received: from it.buh.tecnik93.com (localhost.buh.tecnik93.com [127.0.0.1]) by it.buh.tecnik93.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 210F011497; Sat, 12 Mar 2005 10:18:55 +0200 (EET) Date: Sat, 12 Mar 2005 10:18:54 +0200 From: Ion-Mihai Tetcu To: David Adam Message-ID: <20050312101854.695bf44d@it.buh.tecnik93.com> In-Reply-To: References: <68b3483d050310012555c067f@mail.gmail.com> X-Mailer: Sylpheed-Claws 1.0.1 (GTK+ 1.2.10; i386-portbld-freebsd5.3) Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit cc: freebsd-newbies@freebsd.org cc: h p Subject: Re: Configuration of current kernel X-BeenThere: freebsd-newbies@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Gathering place for new users List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 12 Mar 2005 08:19:00 -0000 On Thu, 10 Mar 2005 22:52:15 +0800 (WST) David Adam wrote: > Helge, > > Firstly, this really isn't the right list for these questions. Don't see any, but this is the reason questions should be asked on questions@ Quote from FreeBSD-Newbies First Aid Kit " FreeBSD-Questions@FreeBSD.ORG is the place to send all questions about installing, configuring, running and using FreeBSD.
