Tried with option on, off, selected options. The problem seems to be that it is looking for folders or files in the work directory that does not exist. I was hoping a patch or other make instruction may be available to get the suite up and running to save some more massive (costly) downloads. There may also be a permissions problem as well. The build seemed a little more thorough when I did a 777 chmod on the entire dir recursively, however, it still did not make the missing directories of files, so the install still fails. I use the gui one for 1.1 on FreeBSD, have to make one dir to get it to work, but other than that the installer is a gem. Works every time, and is is easy as to follow. Easier than the major competitions installer. Otherwise, a patch to get the source to work would be great. [root] /home/andy #whereis openssl openssl: /usr/bin/openssl /usr/share/openssl/man/man1/openssl.1.gz /usr/src/secure/usr.bin/openssl and with the icons - do you mean in programs generally, or one of the subdiectories ? I have manually checked all the folders and buggered if I can find them. I install it no problem, to the point where I can open it then open up different files. But I have a problem when I save a Excel spreadsheet on my desktop or even an SXC spreadsheet and try and open it with /usr/local/bin/openoffice.org. Basically I right click on the icon and tell it to open up the file with /usr/local/bin/openoffice.org.=20 When I try and open it the program soffice hangs and cannot be killed. It blocks everything, I literally have to unplug my computer and restart. When I do restart openoffice no longer works. I've discovered that my problem is that instead of trying to open the spreadsheet with /usr/local/bin/openoffice.org, I should be opening it with /usr/local/bin/openoffice-1.1.4-scalc. It seems like the all encompassing openoffice.org program should work or atleast not hang. Hope this helps in the development. Please let me know if I should be doing something differently.
