I get: 'Please update *-*-freebsd* in gcc/config.gcc' when I try to configure. i worked around this be editing: *-*-freebsd6 | *-*-freebsd[6].*) to *-*-freebsd6 | *-*-freebsd[67].*) This may not have been the right thing, but gcc built and I moved on to the next step. 2. The build ran fine for some time, but then died in the build for pyuno. One message was about a missing file, pyconfig.h. This has been reported previously, but I have seen no response. I also get some redefinitions that look like they may relate to the gcc issue. the office crash's instantly after I started openoffice.org (workstation setup had been done). At first, an critical error came up, OO "saves" all open documents and quits. A new start is impossible after that, the 2nd message pops up. OpenOffice is build without mozilla, with native jdk-1.1.4 and german language pack. I've seen in build-log that sometimes -O2 is used, which results in crashes in some other ports. If you work on it, I'll wait for your patch. Otherwise I would spend some time to find the locations an patch out to use system CFLAGS. Or if you have another idea, I would be glad to test it out. It failed, as usual. However I managed to make it go longer with some patches and compiler magic. First, if you try to build it with the stock gcc-ooo, the build fails with relocations error in libstdc++.a. The gcc-ooo port must be build with support for dynamic libraries by defining the WANT_SHAREDLIBS option. The new shared libraries must then be added to the linker path by running ldconfig -m /usr/local/gcc-ooo/x86_64-portbld-freebsd6.0/3.4.1/lib The three included patches resolve the first build failures after that. I hope this will be usefull. -- Francois Tigeot, Zefyris http://www.zefyris.com/ --82I3+IH0IqGh5yIs Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="patch-solenv::inc::unxfbsdi.mk" --- solenv/inc/unxfbsdi.mk.orig Mon Jul 11 17:50:11 2005 +++ solenv/inc/unxfbsdi.mk Fri Aug 12 08:39:08 2005 @@ -91,11 +91,6 @@ # architecture dependent flags for the C and C++ compiler that can be changed by # exporting the variable ARCH_FLAGS="..." in the shell, which is used to start build -.IF "$(GCCNUMVER)">="000300040000" -ARCH_FLAGS*=-mtune=pentiumpro -.ELSE -ARCH_FLAGS*=-mcpu=pentiumpro -.ENDIF # name of C++ Compiler --82I3+IH0IqGh5yIs-- From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Aug 12 23:11:29 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: openoffice@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3997D16A41F for ; Fri, 12 Aug 2005 23:11:29 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from chat95@mac.com) Received: from smtpout.mac.com (smtpout.mac.com [17.250.248.47]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id BE11543D46 for ; Fri, 12 Aug 2005 23:11:28 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from chat95@mac.com) Received: from mac.com (smtpin07-en2 [10.13.10.152]) by smtpout.mac.com (Xserve/8.12.11/smtpout09/MantshX 4.0) with ESMTP id j7CNBSRE019606; Fri, 12 Aug 2005 16:11:28 -0700 (PDT) Received: from localhost ([133.11.172.102]) (authenticated bits=0) by mac.com (Xserve/smtpin07/MantshX 4.0) with ESMTP id j7CNBNXO008248; Fri, 12 Aug 2005 16:11:27 -0700 (PDT) Date: Sat, 13 Aug 2005 08:11:13 +0900 (JST) Message-Id: <20050813.081113.41688888.chat95@mac.com> To: ftigeot@wolfpond.org From: NAKATA Maho In-Reply-To: <20050812153427.GA91803@aoi.wolfpond.org> References: <20050812153427.GA91803@aoi.wolfpond.org> Organization: private X-Mailer: Mew version 3.3 on Emacs 21.3 / Mule 5.0 (SAKAKI) Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: openoffice@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Building OpenOffice on amd64 X-BeenThere: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting OpenOffice to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 12 Aug 2005 23:11:29 -0000 In Message-ID: <20050812153427.GA91803@aoi.wolfpond.org> Francois Tigeot wrote: > First, if you try to build it with the stock gcc-ooo, the build fails with > relocations error in libstdc++.a. is it possible to pass some flags (might be -fPIC) when building libstdc++.a for amd64?
