Backing out symbol versioning patch helps. I will look for an exact cause of failure when I have some free time. OpenOffice is a big dlsym() user and it is possible it has to be made aware that rtld pays attention to symbol versions now. -- Alexander Kabaev From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Dec 21 09:47:17 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D680616A41F; Wed, 21 Dec 2005 09:47:17 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from vova@vbook.fbsd.ru) Received: from vbook.fbsd.ru (swsoft-mipt-nat.sw.ru [195.214.233.10]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7175F43D53; Wed, 21 Dec 2005 09:47:15 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from vova@vbook.fbsd.ru) Received: from vova by vbook.fbsd.ru with local (Exim 4.60 (FreeBSD)) (envelope-from ) id 1Ep0Yz-0002Jr-JE; Wed, 21 Dec 2005 12:47:13 +0300 From: Vladimir Grebenschikov To: freebsd-openoffice Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Organization: SWsoft Date: Wed, 21 Dec 2005 12:47:12 +0300 Message-Id: <1135158432.1164.10.camel@localhost> Mime-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Evolution 2.4.2.1 FreeBSD GNOME Team Port Sender: Vladimir Grebenschikov Cc: gnome Subject: After latest ports upgrade upenoffice stop works X-BeenThere: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting OpenOffice to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 21 Dec 2005 09:47:18 -0000 7-CURRENT, fresh tree Nothing significant was changes, now it complains: $ swriter no suitable windowing system found, exiting. $ No other effects mentioned, packages updated by recent portupgrade: $ find /var/log/portupgrade/ -type f -mtime -7 /var/log/portupgrade/devel::subversion /var/log/portupgrade/print::freetype2 /var/log/portupgrade/security::gnupg /var/log/portupgrade/editors::koffice-kde3 /var/log/portupgrade/net::liveMedia /var/log/portupgrade/x11-toolkits::vte /var/log/portupgrade/multimedia::mplayer /var/log/portupgrade/security::nmap /var/log/portupgrade/x11-toolkits::py-gnome-extras /var/log/portupgrade/x11::gnome2-power-tools /var/log/portupgrade/x11::gnome2 /var/log/portupgrade/multimedia::kino /var/log/portupgrade/multimedia::vlc /var/log/portupgrade/mail::p5-Mail-SpamAssassin /var/log/portupgrade/graphics::gd /var/log/portupgrade/misc::compat5x /var/log/portupgrade/x11-toolkits::eel /var/log/portupgrade/x11-fm::nautilus2 /var/log/portupgrade/sysutils::gnomecontrolcenter2 /var/log/portupgrade/x11::gnomepanel /var/log/portupgrade/deskutils::gnomeutils2 /var/log/portupgrade/sysutils::nautilus-cd-burner /var/log/portupgrade/archivers::fileroller /var/log/portupgrade/devel::glibmm /var/log/portupgrade/x11-toolkits::gtkmm24 /var/log/portupgrade/math::gcalctool /var/log/portupgrade/audio::rhythmbox /var/log/portupgrade/databases::mysql-connector-java /var/log/portupgrade/deskutils::deskbar-applet /var/log/portupgrade/multimedia::totem-gstreamer /var/log/portupgrade/security::sudo /var/log/portupgrade/www::apache20 /var/log/portupgrade/x11-toolkits::plib /var/log/portupgrade/deskutils::taskjuggler /var/log/portupgrade/graphics::poppler /var/log/portupgrade/x11::gnome-screensaver /var/log/portupgrade/sysutils::gnomesystemtools /var/log/portupgrade/x11::libxklavier /var/log/portupgrade/sysutils::fusefs-kmod /var/log/portupgrade/sysutils::fusefs-sshfs /var/log/portupgrade/converters::psiconv /var/log/portupgrade/dns::p5-Net-DNS /var/log/portupgrade/textproc::ispell /var/log/portupgrade/misc::compat4x Any hints ? -- Vladimir B. Could you please visit http://people.freebsd.org/~fenner/portsurvey/openoffice@freebsd.org.html and correct the problems listed there? The individual ports with problems are . If you have already corrected the problems and submitted a PR, please accept my thanks and apologies for the delay in getting the fixes into the tree. This reminder is created automatically and does not (yet) have a way to know if a PR fixing the problem has been submitted. Please do *NOT* send your response to me directly; I do not necessarily have time to commit your fix; please instead submit a PR via 'send-pr' so it doesn't get lost. Problems are usually of two types: 1. The software package has been upgraded and the version in the port has been removed. The best solution to this problem is to upgrade the port to the most current version of the software package. If you are a FreeBSD committer, then you can just upgrade the port directly. If not, you should create the updated port on your own machine, test it (and maybe even run "portlint" on it), and then use "send-pr" to submit a "diff -uNr old-port updated-port". If you added or deleted any files, please make an explicit note of it. 2. The mirror site being used no longer contains the software package in question, or no longer exists. Solutions include: a) If there are other mirror sites, just remove the bad site from the list. (Make sure that what appears to be a bad site isn't actually a problem of type 1, upgrade) b) If the README or other support files in the software documentation mention where to get the software package, use one of those sites. c) Use a search engine to find another place to get the original DISTFILES. Make sure that you don't pick a FreeBSD distfiles mirror -- if you can't find any other places where the file exists, it can be a LOCAL_PORT or you can simply comment out the MASTER_SITES= line, with a comment explaining why. Once you have a solution, use "send-pr" to submit a "diff -u" of the Makefile. Note that this isn't an urgent issue, as people who try to build the port now will just fall back to the FreeBSD distfiles mirror. Please just put it on your list to do and get to it when you have time. These messages will continue to arrive twice a month until the fix is committed, as a reminder. Thanks, Bill "distfiles" Fenner. This command appears to be part of GNOME - it is definitely not something that gets installed by OpenOffice.org, on any platform. I looked around the OpenOffice.org 2.0.1 tar file and finally found this directory: /usr/ports/editors/openoffice.org-2.0/work/OOA680_m1/extras/unx/source/kde/ That's exactly what I was looking for. There are icons in there along with mime types and an applnk script. I didn't have the time to dig into all the files yet, but this definitely can be turned into something that leads to nice KDE desktop integration. I am just not sure how to do it the "OO.o" way. All I can think of is adding some post-install hacks to the port's Makefile.
