My combo floppy/memory card reader can happily read CF cards too. dmesg output below. Strangely, if I list the /dev directory I see only da0 and da1. But if I ask to mount /dev/da0s1, it works. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned this PR can now be closed. Unfortunately the sound system seems to require an ISA Bus, because in channel.c sndbuf_dmasetdir and sndbuf_dmabounce are used, which are only compiled if there is an isa device. I'm busy right now but I'll try to get time to look at them, don't give up if you don't here from me :) I anticipate this hump will be over in a couple of days but maybe through 'till the weekend 1/ There is a dependency on ISA in the generic PCM code. This is news to me and we need to get rid of it. 2/ There is a lock order reversal. We haven't seen one of these in a while for the sound code. Just to clear things up for me, when you say Mac mini, this means you aren't running the standard i386/amd64, right? --Mat ps, i've removed sound the the list as I think it's only me at the moment. I was amazed how little changing had to be done to allow this to work on 4.x. The files become almost teh same as on -current. (minus small changes here and there) if you use USB on 4.x, please check this out and let me know if I have broken anything. Especially try mistreating it (if it takes such mistreatment in 4.x at the moment) to see if we've broken error handling etc. I'll commit this in a day or so and keep going.. hubs next I think. I wrote a driver for it in linux, and everything is ok.when I plug the key in a system with freebsd 5.3release, it find the key, make 3 nodes ugen0,ugen0.1 and ugen0.2 for it, I can get those descriptors from ugen0,but I can't wrote anything in the OUT pipe ugen0.2. from usb analyser I found the system send the write packet, just like in linux, but the return is NAK. I read the code in ugen.c,usbdi.c,uhci.c,usb.c and usbdi_util.c,and don't know why it set the ival to USB_DEFAULT_IVAL(0),I contact with Lennart Augustsson whose name is in the head of those usb codes, he said he has never run those code in freebsd and he didn't write the intr write code! I still can't sure it is because of the non-standard hardware or software bugs.now I try to write a driver for the usb key in freebsd, if there has any bugs in the ugen.c, I hope i can made a patch for it.can anyone tell me how the intr write designs in the ugen.c, and why it only use the USB_DEFAULT_IVAL? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? The OHCI/UHCI/EHCI drivers interpret the polling interval similar to this: xfer->interval = setup->interval; if(xfer->interval == 0) { // // get interval from the endpoint descriptor // xfer->interval = xfer->pipe->edesc->bInterval; } if(xfer->interval == 0) { xfer->interval = 1 /* ms */; } What USB-controller are you using? Is the device connected through an external USB HUB? Are you sure that the right configuration value has been set? Some devices will only work if clear stall is issued as a part of a reset sequence. This has been discussed before on this list. In the file "/sys/dev/usb/usb_subr.c" in the function "usbd_setup_pipe" could you change: err = usbd_clear_endpoint_stall(p); into err = 0; /* usbd_clear_endpoint_stall(p); */ Then recompile the USB module: "make -C/sys/modules/usb depend all install clean" Reboot and see if there is any change. I also need this to use the new MGE UPS devices (with nut, libusb and the newhidups driver). I have applied the submitted patch on a 5.4-STABLE, and it's OK. To add the MGE UPS devices, I need the attached patches. -- Th.
