I got the group listed on ww.freebsd.org and sent an announcement to dailydaemonnews. That generated about 10-15 users. Two years later (today) I have about 50 members, most of whom lurk on our mailing list. Meetings have been sketchy from time to time....we've had a couple that were 4 people all the way up to 20 people. I suspect there is a "critical mass" that needs to be met before we have consistant attendance to the meetings. HTH, feel free to ask questions and what-not. You might have some ideas for me as well. -- Thanks, Josh Paetzel From owner-freebsd-user-groups@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Mar 23 21:24:43 2005 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-user-groups@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 968D016A4CE for ; Wed, 23 Mar 2005 21:24:43 +0000 (GMT) Received: from usenix.org (voyager.usenix.org [131.106.3.1]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 35EC943D49 for ; Wed, 23 Mar 2005 21:24:41 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from danielle@usenix.org) Received: from voyager.usenix.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by usenix.org (8.12.10/8.12.10) with ESMTP id j2NLPGuO016559 (version=TLSv1/SSLv3 cipher=DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA bits=256 verify=NO) for ; Wed, 23 Mar 2005 13:25:17 -0800 (PST) Received: (from danielle@localhost) by voyager.usenix.org (8.12.10/8.12.10/Submit) id j2NLPGwo016558 for freebsd-user-groups@freebsd.org; Wed, 23 Mar 2005 13:25:16 -0800 (PST) Date: Wed, 23 Mar 2005 13:25:16 -0800 (PST) From: Danielle Young Message-Id: <200503232125.j2NLPGwo016558@voyager.usenix.org> Content-Type: text To: undisclosed-recipients: ; X-Mailman-Approved-At: Thu, 24 Mar 2005 14:48:51 +0000 Subject: Call for Papers LISA'05 X-BeenThere: freebsd-user-groups@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: User Group Coordination List List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 23 Mar 2005 21:24:43 -0000 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Call For Papers LISA '05: 19th Large Installation System Administration Conference December 4-9, 2005, San Diego, CA, USA http://www.usenix.org/lisa05/cfpa Submissions Deadline: May 10, 2005 Sponsored by USENIX and SAGE -------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Colleague The LISA '05 organizers invite you to contribute proposals for refereed papers, invited talks, and workshops, plus any ideas you have Guru Is In sessions, Work-in-Progress reports, and training sessions.
