I have seen some information on OpenBSD's page in the alpha section claiming it supports atheros on the alpha port. Is any work planned to support this great wifi chip on the alpha arch? Regards, //m. ps. please CC me a reply as i am not subscribed to this list, cheers ;-) From owner-freebsd-alpha@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Feb 20 21:03:32 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 54E3F16A420 for ; Mon, 20 Feb 2006 21:03:32 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from wb@freebie.xs4all.nl) Received: from smtp-vbr11.xs4all.nl (smtp-vbr11.xs4all.nl [194.109.24.31]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7095A43D5D for ; Mon, 20 Feb 2006 21:03:31 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from wb@freebie.xs4all.nl) Received: from freebie.xs4all.nl (freebie.xs4all.nl [213.84.32.253]) by smtp-vbr11.xs4all.nl (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id k1KL3T5X090345; Mon, 20 Feb 2006 22:03:29 +0100 (CET) (envelope-from wb@freebie.xs4all.nl) Received: from freebie.xs4all.nl (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freebie.xs4all.nl (8.13.4/8.13.3) with ESMTP id k1KL3TrU077852; Mon, 20 Feb 2006 22:03:29 +0100 (CET) (envelope-from wb@freebie.xs4all.nl) Received: (from wb@localhost) by freebie.xs4all.nl (8.13.4/8.13.1/Submit) id k1KL3TQD077851; Mon, 20 Feb 2006 22:03:29 +0100 (CET) (envelope-from wb) Date: Mon, 20 Feb 2006 22:03:29 +0100 From: Wilko Bulte To: Mateusz Jedrasik Message-ID: <20060220210328.GC77762@freebie.xs4all.nl> References: <1140461026.21700.2.camel@localhost.localdomain> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <1140461026.21700.2.camel@localhost.localdomain> X-OS: FreeBSD 6.1-PRERELEASE User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.11 X-Virus-Scanned: by XS4ALL Virus Scanner Cc: freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Alpha on FreeBSD + Atheros X-BeenThere: freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the Alpha List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 20 Feb 2006 21:03:32 -0000 On Mon, Feb 20, 2006 at 07:43:45PM +0100, Mateusz Jedrasik wrote.. > Hi, > > I have come across an issue while building the ath_hal driver component > on FreeBSD/alpha, namely the binary component required is non-existent > in the sources precompiled for alpha. > > I have seen some information on OpenBSD's page in the alpha section > claiming it supports atheros on the alpha port. > > Is any work planned to support this great wifi chip on the alpha arch?
