/* sockaddr len including null */ sa_family_t sun_family; /* AF_UNIX */ char sun_path[104]; /* path name (gag) */ }; /* actual length of an initialized sockaddr_un */ #define SUN_LEN(su) \ (sizeof(*(su)) - sizeof((su)->sun_path) + strlen((su)->sun_path)) Comments of the sockaddr_un definition, together with the SUN_LEN(su) definition, could confuse one. For example my first thought was that there is a bug in the SUN_LEN(su) definition. About 9 years ago the same confusion happened in the NetBSD project. Read a "SUN_LEN() definition change" thread: http://mail-index.netbsd.org/tech-kern/1997/02/ and commit logs of revisions 1.14 and 1.15: http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/src/sys/sys/un.h Back to FreeBSD, I think the "/* sockaddr len including null */" should be changed to "/* sockaddr_un len without NUL */" and the "/* path name (gag) */" should be changed to "/* NUL-terminated path name */". The unix(4) manual page already gives the right information about that. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: Already in the description >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Apr 23 23:08:05 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6E1B916A40B for ; Sun, 23 Apr 2006 23:08:05 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from barbara.xxx1975@libero.it) Received: from smtp7.libero.it (smtp7.libero.it [193.70.192.90]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 705A143D6B for ; Sun, 23 Apr 2006 23:08:01 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from barbara.xxx1975@libero.it) Received: from localhost (172.16.1.177) by smtp7.libero.it (7.0.027-DD01) id 43E0EB42077815DF for freebsd-doc@freebsd.org; Mon, 24 Apr 2006 01:08:00 +0200 Received: from smtp1.libero.it ([172.16.1.224]) by localhost (asav0.libero.it [193.70.192.9]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 15791-12 for ; Mon, 24 Apr 2006 01:08:00 +0200 (CEST) Received: from libero.it (192.168.17.11) by smtp1.libero.it (7.0.027-DD01) id 444B5FDD0000E1FA for freebsd-doc@freebsd.org; Mon, 24 Apr 2006 01:08:00 +0200 Date: Mon, 24 Apr 2006 01:08:00 +0200 Message-Id: MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Sensitivity: 3 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable From: "barbara\.xxx1975" To: "freebsd-doc" X-XaM3-API-Version: 4.3 (R1) (B3pl15) X-SenderIP: 82.51.157.238 X-Scanned: with antispam and antivirus automated system at libero.it Subject: mirrors.xml deleted by make clean X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 23 Apr 2006 23:08:05 -0000 Every time I make a "make clean" under /usr/doc, /usr/doc/share/sgml/mirr= ors.xml is deleted causing the failure of a subsequent make. These represent problem reports covering all versions including experimental development code and obsolete releases. Bugs can be in one of several states: o - open A problem report has been submitted, no sanity checking performed. a - analyzed The problem is understood and a solution is being sought. f - feedback Further work requires additional information from the originator or the community - possibly confirmation of the effectiveness of a proposed solution. p - patched A patch has been committed, but some issues (MFC and / or confirmation from originator) are still open. s - suspended The problem is not being worked on, due to lack of information or resources. This is a prime candidate for somebody who is looking for a project to do. If the problem cannot be solved at all, it will be closed, rather than suspended. c - closed A problem report is closed when any changes have been integrated, documented, and tested -- or when fixing the problem is abandoned. Thanks to a Google Alert, I noticed a few minutes ago that a mailing went out to freebsd-questions. While I was starting my investigation, I also noticed your address was in this client's file. Since it was uploaded at the same time as the entry for the mailing list, I am assuming that it's entry on the list is just as legitimate as the mailing list's entry and I have removed both from the file. I will also be discussing with our client how they might have come across your address. However, as it is after business hours, I doubt that I'll learn anything about that until tomorrow. I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know on the off chance that you might try the unsubscription link and discover that our system thinks you have already unsubscribed. -- Mickey Chandler Manager, ISP Relations Informz, Inc. 518.691.0071 x 262 From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Apr 26 06:37:54 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: doc@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8CFC116A405 for ; Wed, 26 Apr 2006 06:37:54 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from ashant@wapsol.de) Received: from tzmail.tti-stuttgart.de (tzmail.tti-stuttgart.de [193.197.159.253]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4F82943D76 for ; Wed, 26 Apr 2006 06:37:51 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from ashant@wapsol.de) Received: from wauth062 (unknown [193.197.159.246]) by tzmail.tti-stuttgart.de (Postfix) with ESMTP id E32FCE0097 for ; Wed, 26 Apr 2006 08:37:49 +0200 (CEST) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by wauth062 (Postfix) with ESMTP id 86EA256C028 for ; Wed, 26 Apr 2006 08:42:35 +0200 (CEST) Received: from wauth062 ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (wauth062 [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 18560-08 for ; Wed, 26 Apr 2006 08:42:27 +0200 (CEST) Received: from [192.168.3.120] (p54A2643C.dip.t-dialin.net [84.162.100.60]) by wauth062 (Postfix) with ESMTP for ; Wed, 26 Apr 2006 08:42:27 +0200 (CEST) Message-ID: <444F1538.50309@wapsol.de> Date: Wed, 26 Apr 2006 08:37:44 +0200 From: Ashant Chalasani Organization: Wapsol GmbH User-Agent: Thunderbird 1.5.0.2 (Windows/20060308) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: doc@FreeBSD.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Virus-Scanned: by amavisd-new-20030616-p10 (Debian) at wauth062 Cc: Subject: Broken link on /doc X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 26 Apr 2006 06:37:54 -0000 Friends, I noticed on: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/cvsup.html a broken link such as: file://localhost/usr/share/examples/cvsup/ It is in "A.5.3 CVSup Configuration".
