ftp://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/FreeBSD/2.0.1/FreeBSD6 As you can see from the above, I installed it on FreeBSD 6.0. Anywy, my question is as follows: I see that several Linux distro's have desktop integration packages available. Is there an ETA for OO 2.0.x desktop integration availability? I can handle hacking the .desktop files, which have the wrong executable names, and making my own KDE/Gnome menu groups and items, but it's kind of a pain trying to find the right icons, which look okay when viewed at an extremely small size, as they appear on either the K-Menu or the Gnome menu. Thanks in advance for the info. Regards, Tim _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! I think I'm the one who has done most of the work in figuring out how to fix the .desktop files and where to find the icons. I also promised to take a shot at adding desktop integration to the port's makefile. Unfortunately, I haven't done any work on this yet and don't have an ETA either. Of course, if anybody else feels like fixing this before me, by all means, go ahead ;). The information on where to find the .desktop files and the icons and what to change in the files is all available in the mailing list archives. - Bartosz From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Feb 26 03:42:31 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: openoffice@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8516516A420 for ; Sun, 26 Feb 2006 03:42:31 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from freebsd@chillt.de) Received: from dd2718.kasserver.com (dd2718.kasserver.com [81.209.184.159]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2213443D46 for ; Sun, 26 Feb 2006 03:42:31 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from freebsd@chillt.de) Received: from [127.0.0.1] (dslb-084-061-192-155.pools.arcor-ip.net [84.61.192.155]) by dd2718.kasserver.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 62E16B7E4A; Sun, 26 Feb 2006 04:41:05 +0100 (CET) Message-ID: <4401239E.5000703@chillt.de> Date: Sun, 26 Feb 2006 04:42:22 +0100 From: Bartosz Fabianowski User-Agent: Thunderbird 1.5 (X11/20060113) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: NAKATA Maho References: <43FFED05.1090701@chillt.de> <20060225.201812.74654574.chat95@mac.com> In-Reply-To: <20060225.201812.74654574.chat95@mac.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: openoffice@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: Seeking approval for ports commit in editors/openoffice.org-2.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting OpenOffice to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 26 Feb 2006 03:42:31 -0000 > First try this patch and verify WITHOUT_MOZILLA works. As I mentioned in the bug report, I want to verify the patch works, but I have to wait for the massive portupgrade after the libtool conversion to finish. It should be done any minute now and I will run a recompile of OOo overnight. > we are now in the release process so you definitely need propsed patch When I first mentioned the patch yesterday, it seemed really important to me and I really thought it should go into ports ASAP. But on second thought, I would like to retract that statement. The patch is in fact almost irrelevant to users of 6.1/5.5-release. Those who the packages included with the release won't even notice as pointyhat doesn't use WITHOUT_MOZILLA. Those who compile stuff from ports should cvsup/csup/portsnap before building anyway and will therefore not be using the broken ports that comes with the release anyway. So, the only people who have to suffer are bit are those of us who want to build a working OOo *now*. But since there's a patch available (thanks for turning it into a patch for the port, by the way), we can just use that while ports are frozen. I will report back once my build has completed (or failed). If the patch works, it should be safe to commit once the ports slush is announced. - Bartosz From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Feb 26 05:21:37 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: openoffice@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9AC4216A420 for ; Sun, 26 Feb 2006 05:21:37 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from freebsd@chillt.de) Received: from dd2718.kasserver.com (dd2718.kasserver.com [81.209.184.159]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EA5AF43D45 for ; Sun, 26 Feb 2006 05:21:36 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from freebsd@chillt.de) Received: from [127.0.0.1] (dslb-084-061-192-155.pools.arcor-ip.net [84.61.192.155]) by dd2718.kasserver.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 388B1B8D4E; Sun, 26 Feb 2006 06:20:10 +0100 (CET) Message-ID: <44013AD1.2040706@chillt.de> Date: Sun, 26 Feb 2006 06:21:21 +0100 From: Bartosz Fabianowski User-Agent: Thunderbird 1.5 (X11/20060113) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: Bartosz Fabianowski References: <43FFED05.1090701@chillt.de> <20060225.201812.74654574.chat95@mac.com> <4401239E.5000703@chillt.de> In-Reply-To: <4401239E.5000703@chillt.de> Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="------------060308010501090908060006" Cc: openoffice@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: Seeking approval for ports commit in editors/openoffice.org-2.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting OpenOffice to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 26 Feb 2006 05:21:37 -0000 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------060308010501090908060006 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit The patch doesn't apply as is. The only significant change is that according to the original patch, in file "scp2/source/ooo/file_ooo.scp", there should be a line that reads: STD_UNO_LIB_FILE( gid_File_Lib_Pl , pl) In the 2.0.2rc2 source, there is the following line instead: STD_UNO_LIB_FILE_PATCH( gid_File_Lib_Preload, preload) This definitely seems to be the corresponding line, so I guess changing the patch to look for that line instead makes sense. In the process of attempting a portupgrade of openoffice.org-2.0 with a ports tree cvsup'd on February 28 at 12:00 pm CST, I noticed a suspicious line during the installation process: --------8<--------------- (cd /usr/local/bin; ln python2.3 python) -------8<---------------- The portupgrade did not complete successfully, and errored out during the installation. After some checking, I noticed that my python 2.3.5 installation had been overwritten with python 2.3.4 by openoffice.org's build process; however, the package database had no knowledge of this happening, and still only reported versions 2.3.5 and 2.5.2. Furthermore, parts of the python 2.4.2 port were also overwritten with python 2.3.4's files. I rebuilt and reinstalled both of my python installations to correct this. Is this conflict expected during the installation; i.e. would openoffice.org's installation have corrected the conflict if it would have finished successfully? Do you have any recommendations? Thanks for your consideration. Please let me know if there is any additional information that I could gather for you about my particular system's configuration. -- Floyd May Senior Systems Analyst CTLN - CareerTech Learning Network fmay@okcareertech.org From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Mar 3 12:30:38 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D003716A420 for ; Fri, 3 Mar 2006 12:30:38 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from avg@icyb.net.ua) Received: from citadel.icyb.net.ua (citadel.icyb.net.ua [212.40.38.140]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A024743D45 for ; Fri, 3 Mar 2006 12:30:36 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from avg@icyb.net.ua) Received: from [212.40.38.87] (oddity-e.topspin.kiev.ua [212.40.38.87]) by citadel.icyb.net.ua (8.8.8p3/ICyb-2.3exp) with ESMTP id OAA06907 for ; Fri, 03 Mar 2006 14:30:30 +0200 (EET) (envelope-from avg@icyb.net.ua) Message-ID: <440836E4.7040000@icyb.net.ua> Date: Fri, 03 Mar 2006 14:30:28 +0200 From: Andriy Gapon User-Agent: Thunderbird 1.5 (X11/20060222) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=KOI8-U Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: Subject: openoffice.org-2.0.2.rc1 coredump - thread stack size porblem ? It looks like OpenOffice creates this thread with default stack size and default stack is something like 64k and this is not enough for libcups. I am not sure where and how to properly report this. Is there any way on FreeBSD 5.4 to set system-wide default stack size ? -- Andriy Gapon From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Mar 3 22:14:09 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: openoffice@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 430CC16A420; Fri, 3 Mar 2006 22:14:09 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A404F43D48; Fri, 3 Mar 2006 22:14:08 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (linimon@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id k23ME8S1063875; Fri, 3 Mar 2006 22:14:08 GMT (envelope-from linimon@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from linimon@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id k23ME8Dh063871; Fri, 3 Mar 2006 22:14:08 GMT (envelope-from linimon) Date: Fri, 3 Mar 2006 22:14:08 GMT From: Mark Linimon Message-Id: <200603032214.k23ME8Dh063871@freefall.freebsd.org> To: linimon@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org, openoffice@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/94046: openoffice.org-1.1.5_1 does not build on 4.11 X-BeenThere: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting OpenOffice to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 03 Mar 2006 22:14:09 -0000 Synopsis: openoffice.org-1.1.5_1 does not build on 4.11 Responsible-Changed-From-To: freebsd-ports-bugs->openoffice Responsible-Changed-By: linimon Responsible-Changed-When: Fri Mar 3 22:14:00 UTC 2006 Responsible-Changed-Why: Over to maintainer(s). http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=94046
