In many cases these ports are failing to compile on some subset of the FreeBSD build environments. The most common problem is that recent versions of -CURRENT include gcc3.4, which is much stricter about such things as function declarations, literal strings constants that continue over several physical lines, and forcing the deprecation of antique header files such as varargs.h (we should now be using stdargs.h). The next most common problem is that compiles succeed on the i386 architecture (e.g. the common Intel PC), but fail on one or more of the other architectures due to assumptions about things such as size of various types, byte-alignment issues, and so forth. In occasional cases we see that the same port may have different errors in different build environments. The script that runs on the build cluster uses heuristics to try to 'guess' the error type to help you isolate problems, but it is only a rough guide. If you need help in one or more build environments that you do not have access to, please ask for help on the freebsd-ports mailing list. One more note: on occasion, there are transient build errors seen on the build farm. Unfortunately, there is not yet any way for this algorithm to tell the difference (humans are much, much better at this kind of thing.) The errors are listed below. In the case where the same problem exists on more than one build environment, the URL points to the latest errorlog for that type. (By 'build environment' here we mean 'combination of 4.x/5.x/6.x with target architecture'.) (Note: the dates are included to help you to gauge whether or not the error still applies to the latest version. The program that generates this report is not yet able to determine this automatically.) portname: editors/ooodict-all broken because: Size mismatch build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=editors&portname=ooodict-all If these errors are ones that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. On the other hand, if you no longer wish to maintain this port (or ports), please reply with a message stating that, and accept our thanks for your efforts in the past. Every effort has been made to make sure that these error reports really do correspond to a port that you maintain. However, due to the fact that this is an automated process, it may indeed generate false matches. If one of these errors fits that description, please forward this email to the author of this software, Mark Linimon , so that he can attempt to fix the problem in the future. Thanks for your efforts to help improve FreeBSD. I for one do NOT want OOwriter starting up every time I start Gnome, and it took a lot of digging to find all of the nefarious links and files to undo this "feature". This should be an option - not a default. I have WRKDIRPREFIX set to /home/ports_work, creating the above path. I don't believe that my problem is the epm pathname limit because: 1) The pathnames listed are still well below 255 characters. 2) The problem goes away if epm explicitly uses /usr/sbin/pkg_create instead of relying on $PATH (see ports/107126) 3) Changing WRKDIRPREFIX to /home/a fails in an identical fashion even though I can build OOo2 with WRKDIRPREFIX=3D/var/obj on another host with /usr/sbin in $PATH. --=20 Peter Jeremy --lCAWRPmW1mITcIfM Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFFljOc/opHv/APuIcRAjSbAKCmgPsiJCFhrCEVlCT80oYvCBbMOgCdFOqS MVSbtr46a+7FbBv/uHYBGfk= =iq+r -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --lCAWRPmW1mITcIfM-- From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Dec 30 11:04:48 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: openoffice@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A1E4016A417; Sat, 30 Dec 2006 11:04:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from erwin@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [69.147.83.40]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 774B813C459; Sat, 30 Dec 2006 11:04:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from erwin@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (erwin@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id kBUB4mt0056034; Sat, 30 Dec 2006 11:04:48 GMT (envelope-from erwin@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from erwin@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id kBUB4lb8056030; Sat, 30 Dec 2006 11:04:47 GMT (envelope-from erwin) Date: Sat, 30 Dec 2006 11:04:47 GMT From: Erwin Lansing Message-Id: <200612301104.kBUB4lb8056030@freefall.freebsd.org> To: yuris@bz.aval.kiev.ua, erwin@FreeBSD.org, openoffice@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/100669: Error on building Openoffice.org-2.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting OpenOffice to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 30 Dec 2006 11:04:48 -0000 Synopsis: Error on building Openoffice.org-2.0 State-Changed-From-To: open->feedback State-Changed-By: erwin State-Changed-When: Sat Dec 30 11:04:05 UTC 2006 State-Changed-Why: Can you confirm that this problem still exists after the recent upgrades of editors/openoffice.org-2 or was this resolved by these upgrades? http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=100669 From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Dec 30 19:27:11 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: openoffice@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 40FAB16A50A; Sat, 30 Dec 2006 19:27:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from erwin@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [69.147.83.40]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1758413C483; Sat, 30 Dec 2006 19:27:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from erwin@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (erwin@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id kBUJRARH009899; Sat, 30 Dec 2006 19:27:10 GMT (envelope-from erwin@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from erwin@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id kBUJR89j009895; Sat, 30 Dec 2006 19:27:08 GMT (envelope-from erwin) Date: Sat, 30 Dec 2006 19:27:08 GMT From: Erwin Lansing Message-Id: <200612301927.kBUJR89j009895@freefall.freebsd.org> To: andrew@grillet.co.uk, erwin@FreeBSD.org, openoffice@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/89393: can't install OpenOffice 2.0.0 from port X-BeenThere: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting OpenOffice to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 30 Dec 2006 19:27:11 -0000 Synopsis: can't install OpenOffice 2.0.0 from port State-Changed-From-To: closed->open State-Changed-By: erwin State-Changed-When: Sat Dec 30 19:26:25 UTC 2006 State-Changed-Why: Reopen with feedback: I am concerned about the feedback-timeout - this is the first communication I have had about this - my ISP had problems and lost a lot of my e-mail, and accidentlaly altered my password so I could not log in for a bit. The timeout may be too short. I tried this afternoon to install openoffice on FreeBSD 6.2-PRERELEASE using portupgrade -NP openoffice and portupgrade -NP openoffice.org I also tried using sysinstall (post install configuration) Although it offers me choices of several versions, eg openoffice-1.0 openoffice-1.1 openoffice-2.0 none of the choices will install. I am pretty sure the problem relates to confusion as to whether the port/package is called openoffice or openoffice.org I cannot attempt install from port at present owing to lack of HD space. - as fast as I get more disk space, it fills up :-{ PS I want a PACKAGE for FreeBSD on UltraSparc - my U60 machine has insufficient space to compile openoffice too.
