If I remember correctly the line has something to do with configuring Samba. Also, prior to the kernel panic Samba configure was complaining about sys/mount.h, but I don't remember exactly what was wrong. Is there any way to get around this? If not, from what ISO should I install FreeBSD so that I can successfully install gnome2-fifth-toe? I'm trying to compile the ppc kernel. I've taken the GENERIC config and running make depend stops in the aic7xxx/aicasm directory. The error is that the linker cannot find libl. This seems to be a userspace program. Can I bypass this step while compiling the kernel? Otherwise, how can I fix it? I am running fbsd 6 on an i386. 2. I compiled it today, but got the message: Fatal server error: xf86MapVidMem: could not mmap screen [s=80000,a=90000000] (Invalid argument) The thing is that I have a Mac Mini (1.25Ghz), and after searching through the mailing list the above error seems like a ghost from the past ( http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/htdig/freebsd-ppc/2005-March/000946.html). I didn't realize there were two of the same quotes and I didn't change the subject line. Well anyway, the latest problem is that I can't boot correctly any more. After installing a few ports, I restarted and the system paniced with the "Setting up NFS filesystem" (or something like that) message. Oh, and as for the X problem, I kinda overlooked this: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-ppc/2005-July/001213.html But it looks to technical for me, so I'll stop bothering you guys with my newbie questions.
