I suppose that threads of modem_run occupy the usb device. After modem_run, kill it! And then you can call ppp -background your_profile without crash ;-) Summary: modem_run -f mgmt.o ---> killall modem_run <--- ppp -background -nat your_profile For unbreak pppoa in HEAD substitute this: + *-freebsd[56]*) with + *-freebsd[567]*) and remove from Makefile: .if ${OSVERSION} >= 700000 BROKEN= "Does not build on FreeBSD >= 7.0" .endif From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Jan 8 06:46:07 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D2A3916A422; Sun, 8 Jan 2006 06:46:07 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from takawata@init-main.com) Received: from ns.init-main.com (104.194.138.210.bn.2iij.net [210.138.194.104]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 45E3C43D45; Sun, 8 Jan 2006 06:45:54 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from takawata@init-main.com) Received: from init-main.com (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by ns.init-main.com (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id k086j60N044844; Sun, 8 Jan 2006 15:45:06 +0900 (JST) (envelope-from takawata@init-main.com) Message-Id: <200601080645.k086j60N044844@ns.init-main.com> To: freebsd-hackers@freebsd.org, freebsd-usb@freebsd.org From: takawata@jp.freebsd.org Date: Sun, 08 Jan 2006 15:45:06 +0900 Sender: takawata@init-main.com Cc: Subject: Driver for a 3G mobile phone. The following code is at the begining of ohci_device_isoc_abort: /* Transfer is already done. */ if (xfer->status != USBD_NOT_STARTED && xfer->status != USBD_IN_PROGRESS) { splx(s); printf("ohci_device_isoc_abort: early return\n"); return; } As you can see if this codepath is taken then the transfer still isn't removed from the pipequeue with as result an infinite loop and a system that doesn't respond anymore. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Jan 11 17:23:49 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-usb@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 239C716A41F; Wed, 11 Jan 2006 17:23:49 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from brooks@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CF9DC43D5E; Wed, 11 Jan 2006 17:23:48 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from brooks@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (brooks@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id k0BHNmMJ027974; Wed, 11 Jan 2006 17:23:48 GMT (envelope-from brooks@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from brooks@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id k0BHNmc7027970; Wed, 11 Jan 2006 17:23:48 GMT (envelope-from brooks) Date: Wed, 11 Jan 2006 17:23:48 GMT From: Brooks Davis Message-Id: <200601111723.k0BHNmc7027970@freefall.freebsd.org> To: tim_gibney_200@yahoo.com, brooks@FreeBSD.org, brooks@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: usb/73553: [usb] Microsoft USB Internet Keyboard not recongized X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 11 Jan 2006 17:23:49 -0000 Synopsis: [usb] Microsoft USB Internet Keyboard not recongized State-Changed-From-To: open->feedback State-Changed-By: brooks State-Changed-When: Wed Jan 11 17:21:08 UTC 2006 State-Changed-Why: Is this still a problem on 5.4-STABLE or 6.0?
