To me line 164 (of the first patch file) seems bogus. It tries to do the right thing (read-modify-write) but actually does not. HPET_OFFSET_ENABLE is the offset in the hpet datastructure. Should be like this: val = bus_read_4(sc->mem_res, HPET_OFFSET_ENABLE); bus_write_4(sc->mem_res, HPET_OFFSET_ENABLE, val | 1); And 1 should better HPET_ENABLE_ENABLE. Line 133 of the same patch does not even try to do a read-modify-write. However the documentation is clear that it should. This all applies to the driver in -current (1.8) as well. regards Marius From owner-freebsd-acpi@FreeBSD.ORG Tue May 22 16:30:08 2007 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-acpi@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-acpi@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 75AD416A46D for ; Tue, 22 May 2007 16:30:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from takeharu1219@ybb.ne.jp) Received: from ybbsmtp10.mail.ogk.yahoo.co.jp (ybbsmtp10.mail.ogk.yahoo.co.jp [124.83.153.130]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with SMTP id EF87F13C469 for ; Tue, 22 May 2007 16:30:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from takeharu1219@ybb.ne.jp) Received: (qmail 74057 invoked by alias); 22 May 2007 16:03:25 -0000 DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; q=dns; c=nofws; s=ybb20050223; d=ybb.ne.jp; b=kGpDFm5US28CcUFcVBjD4GPzBMtMcCUKeV6K/qtAcj30zTukCaXuf3NeOOGQYG4YhoIVua9msnRk6JcrWLoAdtjSuqc32yDEUARf+2GUSqGMyuQIcp1IWjFOR4wVwVep ; Received: from unknown (HELO ?127.0.0.1?) I think it would be better to give that sysctl a more official name like dev.cpu(.X).freq_lowest though, but that's up to acpi@ not i386@. _______________________________________________ freebsd-i386@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-i386 To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-i386-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" -- Kind regards, Remko Lodder ** remko@elvandar.org FreeBSD ** remko@FreeBSD.org /* Quis custodiet ipsos custodes */ From owner-freebsd-acpi@FreeBSD.ORG Wed May 23 12:09:33 2007 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A861F16A468 for ; Wed, 23 May 2007 12:09:33 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from anderson@freebsd.org) Received: from mh2.centtech.com (moat3.centtech.com [64.129.166.50]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7AA3813C46E for ; Wed, 23 May 2007 12:09:33 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from anderson@freebsd.org) Received: from neutrino.centtech.com (neutrino.centtech.com [10.177.171.220]) by mh2.centtech.com (8.13.8/8.13.8) with ESMTP id l4NC9Vkw066399; Wed, 23 May 2007 07:09:31 -0500 (CDT) (envelope-from anderson@freebsd.org) Message-ID: <46542EF3.7030809@freebsd.org> Date: Wed, 23 May 2007 07:09:23 -0500 From: Eric Anderson User-Agent: Thunderbird 2.0.0.0 (X11/20070521) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: Nate Lawson References: <4630BCC4.10601@freebsd.org> <4637860D.8060603@freebsd.org> <46378F75.6020007@root.org> <4637944C.5000709@freebsd.org> <46379F42.3040700@freebsd.org> In-Reply-To: <46379F42.3040700@freebsd.org> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Virus-Scanned: ClamAV 0.88.4/3285/Wed May 23 00:39:59 2007 on mh2.centtech.com X-Virus-Status: Clean X-Spam-Status: No, score=-2.5 required=8.0 tests=AWL,BAYES_00 autolearn=ham version=3.1.6 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.1.6 (2006-10-03) on mh2.centtech.com Cc: freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org Subject: Re: CPU temp AC vs Battery X-BeenThere: freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: ACPI and power management development List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 23 May 2007 12:09:33 -0000 On 05/01/07 15:12, Eric Anderson wrote: > On 05/01/07 14:26, Eric Anderson wrote: >> On 05/01/07 14:05, Nate Lawson wrote: >>> Eric Anderson wrote: >>>> On 04/26/07 09:52, Eric Anderson wrote: >>>>> Hi everyone, >>>>> >>>>> I've just noticed something very odd. The goal is to make it easier to test driver suspend/resume methods without doing the whole system suspend/resume process. If your drivers are working right, you should be able to set the sysctl and run your system normally while doing acpiconf -s3 (or 4) in a loop. Please test and report any driver bugs found to the list. Since acpi is not involved at this point, bugs found should not be acpi bugs. -- Nate From owner-freebsd-acpi@FreeBSD.ORG Fri May 25 13:06:09 2007 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7300916A468 for ; Fri, 25 May 2007 13:06:09 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mr.hyro@gmail.com) Received: from mu-out-0910.google.com (mu-out-0910.google.com [209.85.134.187]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E873013C44B for ; Fri, 25 May 2007 13:06:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mr.hyro@gmail.com) Received: by mu-out-0910.google.com with SMTP id w9so382105mue for ; Fri, 25 May 2007 06:06:07 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=beta; h=domainkey-signature:received:received:message-id:date:from:to:subject:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition:references; b=AAMD9197xdxTeil9bWyZk1TKf+1klirSTvmcJ3eqFhvNXJaFdo3zf1i1Lu3AyoEXdwYuqgQ3tnwzcsE62TtFwUSKlCee/k6uh21CwVzAindb4s9+XwEYICkhvPYS8YEjm2ua9t8ZuMC2sO/ZpgauuODjdkw6PYc4PAemOiy94aM= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=beta; h=received:message-id:date:from:to:subject:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition:references; b=QdvxOzZ6rouje1ukmTDKEjjw4HCYvfNtIEQUg3rqhiEef4d4+3zn2qw/3NOve5UGhfpaD3TfJwsqbEdkOXGXsmteFYRMbia0uVGUiLai6P/dTlwxBmIJ6ozw+0KhXRjfd8Mrsu1t8J0cmIkosE6EwbpkDVviC19mH+9R6trVWhw= Received: by 10.82.189.6 with SMTP id m6mr5483035buf.1180098367666; Fri, 25 May 2007 06:06:07 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.82.151.12 with HTTP; Fri, 25 May 2007 06:06:07 -0700 (PDT) Message-ID: <24393ae80705250606tedd4049ybb0f5e4d24546f5b@mail.gmail.com> Date: Fri, 25 May 2007 09:06:07 -0400 From: "Andrey Shuvikov" To: freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org In-Reply-To: <200705191015.21165.jhb@freebsd.org> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline References: <24393ae80705172026u6194f11esc525d52470aa71f9@mail.gmail.com> <200705191015.21165.jhb@freebsd.org> Subject: Re: Computer hangs on reboot X-BeenThere: freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: ACPI and power management development List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 25 May 2007 13:06:09 -0000 On 5/19/07, John Baldwin wrote: > > Does this machine not implement a PS/2 keyboard controller?
