I've used mplayer with the xv driver on a radeon under 6.2-RELEASE and 6-STABLE without problems on amd64. Also update X to the latest version in ports. Recently I've been using 7.0-BETA. Mplayer works fine with the xv driver. BTW, I'm not sure that the XVideo extension that the xv driver uses has anything to do with DRI. Check that the XVideo extension is used by Xorg:=20 'grep XVideo /var/log/Xorg.0.log' Roland --=20 R.F.Smith http://www.xs4all.nl/~rsmith/ [plain text _non-HTML_ PGP/GnuPG encrypted/signed email much appreciated] pgp: 1A2B 477F 9970 BA3C 2914 B7CE 1277 EFB0 C321 A725 (KeyID: C321A725) --MfFXiAuoTsnnDAfZ Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.4 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFHXssTEnfvsMMhpyURAipkAJ9eLo+fK1tx3FrrQELlNqdvg8R15ACeOhgY A9mTT5HjK9+PXJRfKRmPqUA= =Zw9W -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --MfFXiAuoTsnnDAfZ-- From owner-freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Dec 12 05:40:02 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-amd64@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5CDDC16A468 for ; Wed, 12 Dec 2007 05:40:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 320DF13C468 for ; Wed, 12 Dec 2007 05:40:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.2/8.14.2) with ESMTP id lBC5e2e2003828 for ; Wed, 12 Dec 2007 05:40:02 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.2/8.14.1/Submit) id lBC5e2kw003827; Wed, 12 Dec 2007 05:40:02 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Date: Wed, 12 Dec 2007 05:40:02 GMT Message-Id: <200712120540.lBC5e2kw003827@freefall.freebsd.org> To: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org From: John Merryweather Cooper X-Mailman-Approved-At: Wed, 12 Dec 2007 12:11:07 +0000 Cc: Subject: Re: amd64/105514: FreeBSD/amd64 - Fails to boot on HP Pavilion dv8000 Laptop X-BeenThere: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: John Merryweather Cooper List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the AMD64 platform List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 12 Dec 2007 05:40:02 -0000 The following reply was made to PR amd64/105514; it has been noted by GNATS. Any ideas as to what the problem may be, and suggestions as to what to do about it? Thanks BrendonJ
