It should pick up the onboard Ethernet card without any hassles. Support for the onboard PATA controller has recently hit -CURRENT (thanks sos@!); I'll be attempting a backport to 6.2 for our own internal builds in the next 48 hours, so can report how that goes... for those interested, it looks like src/sys/dev/ata/ata-chipset.c, revision 1.179, is the relevant commit... --Antony From owner-freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Mar 14 20:22:11 2007 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 70DC816A401 for ; Wed, 14 Mar 2007 20:22:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from ehaupt@FreeBSD.org) Received: from mx.critical.ch (milkyway.critical.ch [62.2.45.169]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id ECD4F13C4BA for ; Wed, 14 Mar 2007 20:22:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from ehaupt@FreeBSD.org) Received: from beaver.home.critical.ch (84-75-149-239.dclient.hispeed.ch [84.75.149.239]) by mx.critical.ch (8.13.8/8.13.8/critical-1.0) with SMTP id l2EJhD81014680 for ; Wed, 14 Mar 2007 20:43:14 +0100 (CET) (envelope-from ehaupt@FreeBSD.org) Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2007 20:43:08 +0100 From: Emanuel Haupt To: freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.org Message-Id: <20070314204308.1dca7915.ehaupt@FreeBSD.org> X-Mailer: Sylpheed version 1.0.6 (GTK+ 1.2.10; i386-portbld-freebsd6.2) Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; micalg="PGP-SHA1"; boundary="Signature=_Wed__14_Mar_2007_20_43_09_+0100_tKHPDeX5a4_YzQDu" X-Greylist: Sender IP whitelisted, not delayed by milter-greylist-3.0 (mx.critical.ch [62.2.45.171]); Wed, 14 Mar 2007 20:43:14 +0100 (CET) X-Virus-Scanned: ClamAV 0.90/2839/Wed Mar 14 10:24:32 2007 on milkyway.critical.ch X-Virus-Status: Clean Cc: Subject: Asus P5B-VM DO mainboard X-BeenThere: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: General discussion of FreeBSD hardware List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2007 20:22:11 -0000 --Signature=_Wed__14_Mar_2007_20_43_09_+0100_tKHPDeX5a4_YzQDu Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I am considering buying an Asus P5B-VM DO [1] mainboard to build a little fileserver with 4 SATA disks. Just thought I would report that running a 6.2-RELEASE-p2 kernel with the attached patch is successfully able to boot and run from a CD-ROM attached to the onboard up on a DQ965GF motherboard... The patch is attached in case anyone else needs this before 6.3 comes about.
