Correct, the 3805 is not supported in FreeBSD 6.x or -CURRENT at the moment. Right you you'll need the driver from Adaptec's website. If I recall correctly the driver includes a precompiled .ko and a readme file explaining how to install it. I plan to merge the support for these cards from Adaptec's driver into -CURRENT and then to RELENG_6, but I'm not sure when it will happen relative to the 7.0 timeline. -Ed Maste From owner-freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Aug 23 21:16:57 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1162816A468 for ; Thu, 23 Aug 2007 21:16:57 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from marcus@blazingdot.com) Received: from marklar.blazingdot.com (marklar.blazingdot.com [207.154.84.83]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 79B7613C49D for ; Thu, 23 Aug 2007 21:16:56 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from marcus@blazingdot.com) Received: (qmail 76586 invoked by uid 503); 23 Aug 2007 20:50:08 -0000 Date: Thu, 23 Aug 2007 13:50:08 -0700 From: Marcus Reid To: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org Message-ID: <20070823205008.GA73554@blazingdot.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline X-Coffee-Level: nearly-fatal User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6i Subject: MS wireless optical mouse doesn't work X-BeenThere: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: General discussion of FreeBSD hardware List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 23 Aug 2007 21:16:57 -0000 Hi, I just bought a MS Wireless Optical Desktop Pro keyboard/mouse. The keyboard works great, but no luck with the mouse at all, even though I get these kernel messages: ukbd0: Microsoft Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop\M-. 1.00, rev 2.00/73.73, addr 2, iclass 3/1 kbd2 at ukbd0 ums0: Microsoft Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop\M-. 1.00, rev 2.00/73.73, addr 2, iclass 3/1 ums0: 5 buttons and Z dir and a TILT dir. I did a little searching and others have run into the same thing, and nobody can get it working. You can use the PS/2 adapter, but my machine doesn't have legacy ports. Does anybody know if CURRENT supports these devices? Thanks, Marcus
