Just a final note. Since the interrupt pending message register is
local to each cpu / core, I had to move the fixup deep into
lapic_setup() routine though it works with just single cpu / core
 fixup. Better safe than sorry.

I found that enabling quick boot appears to work OK.

I guess there is a limited amount of time and if the loader is still=20
 running then.. *boom*.

I tried enabling the watchdog timer but it won't reset it in that=20
 state(!)

>Description:
libwmf-0.2.8.4 requires LDFLAGS and LD_LIBRARY_PATH set to /usr/X11R6/lib and CFLAGS set to /usr/X11R6/include. If not set that way, it fails to build. Upleasant, because, for example, gimp requires libwmf-0.2.8.4 an d therefore fails to build too.
>How-To-Repeat:
try run make install without CFLAGS and LDFLAGS set in make.conf
>Fix:
Just set variables properly

Does this fix all of the Turion lapic timer hangs? Some small tweaks to the
comment would be:

- s/present/presence/
- s/render/renders/
- s/apic timer/local APIC timer/
- s/dead, and/dead, so/
- s/reading Interrupt/reading the Interrupt/
- s/unset/clearing/

Also, is it ok to always mask off the upper 31 bits of the MSR instead of
preserving their current state?

 Nice.

This not-actually-final one works on my HP nx6325 Turion X2.

Does it affect the CPU's sleep cycles other than to wake up the CPU
 for acpi timer interrupts?

Thanks.

It should work either way, since the upper bits are read only.

C1E works more or less the same way with C2/3, except that the spec
require the BIOS not to promote the state to the OS. The simmilar dead
apic timer behaviour can be observed on other non-C1E by setting
 hw.acpi.cpu.cx_lowest/dev.cpu.%d.cx_lowest to its lowest supported
 Cx state.

>Description:
The if_sis.c driver for the Natsemi DP38315D chip fails to autonegotiate properly on a 100baseTX link if the connection breaks for less than 4 seconds. Ethernet cable is around 5m in length (short cable fix invoked).

The patch below fixes the problem for me.

>How-To-Repeat:
Run sis0 in 100baseTX mode. Disconnect ethernet cable for less than 4 seconds. On reconnection, short cable fix reg is 0, and sis0 interface is non-functional.
>Fix:
Apply the following patch to sys/pci/if_sis.c
