KEY SKILLS Server administration, MySQL, FreeBSD. JOB DESCRIPTION This position involves a unique blend of system administration, database and applications support, and project management work. Other responsibilities include: * Network infrastructure management (mostly Macs), including LAN, WAN, security, VPN, co-location centers, wireless, FreeBSD and windows machines, to maximise team productivity. * responsible for maintaining a 100% uptime server environment, site performance, reliability, including profiling bottlenecks and capacity planning and deployment. * managing load balancing and network configuration. * managing hardware and software vendor relationships * Web server and application administration, including blogs and content management. * Project management for diverse projects such as small application development, system migration, automation and expansion to support company growth * Hardware and software support for a PC & Mac workstation environment * Assist in the triage and resolution of incoming support requests REQUIREMENTS * 3+ years server administration * FreeBSD and/or Linux/other Unix essential * TCP/IP network management and architecture (switch infrastructure, VLANs, DNS) * Apache configuration, management and tuning * Experience building server or desktop systems * Proven ability to quickly troubleshoot problems on a diverse range of equipment * Some shell scripting experience helpful * Excellent customer service, written, verbal, and organization skills * Able to keep a positive, calm, and friendly demeanor during times of stress and quick deadlines * SQL database/MySQL experience a huge plus!
