One position requires knowledge of FreeBSD and the second requires experience with Linux Cent OS. These hands-on positions are contract to hire and are a great opportunity to join a growing company! What are we looking for? - 7-15 years of experience in a medium to large production environment. - Great technical skills are a must! This is a hands-on position. - That being said, we'd love if you had experience in leading small teams of technical engineers. - Proven ability to troubleshoot any issue. - A great attitude and the ability to "see the big picture" from an end-to-end perspective. Technical Skills - 7-15 years experience with FreeBSD Unix Administration or Linux Cent OS Administration - Knowledge of basic Unix/Linux concepts, file systems, permissions, ACLs, kernel configuration. - Knowledge of basic networking concepts and troubleshooting. - Exposure to managing servers remotely using DRAC, ILOM, KVM, ALOM, HMC consoles. - Extensive knowledge of standard Unix/Linux services such as: SSH, FTP, NFS, NIS, LDAP, DNS, Sudo. - Experience with troubleshooting problems with app tier - Apache, Tomcat, BIND, PostgreSQL, Postfix, Tomcat. - User, Group and File System management skills. - Performance monitoring and tuning of Unix/Linux servers. - Excellent oral and written communication skills Bonus Points! - Exposure to open source management tools like Nagios, RT, ORCA, MRTG, Cacti - Some scripting skills, Shell/Perl - Basic knowledge of SAN/NAS and clustering concepts - Experience with backup tools, ufsdump, tar, cpio, (Netbackup, TSM) - Certification in one of the Unix flavors is a plus!
