I'll start off with a general question - it may help at some stage. My usual environment is KDE and I set my keyboard to the US-International layout (the one that permits writing in French, Spanish or German with minimum overhead through the deadkeys). Every time I install OpenOffice, I have to recompile it because the "standard" version in the precompiled packages does not support deadkeys - but, for some reason, they do work after recompilation. I'm not sure of which of the switches does this magic (see compilation line below). Any hint welcome. Now, to my current problem. A few words about my context: a brand new install of FreeBSD 7.0 on an x86 platform (VIA EPIA with a C3), I updated the ports tree about a week ago and updated a significant number of packages (close to 1200 installed, be prepared if you ask me the list and versions :-) ). I refreshed the OpenOffice package yesterday (removed the source archive and updated /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-2), reissued the compilation and it died during the night with the error below. Is that a correct reading of the facts? ;-) Cheers Olivier On Wed, Apr 9, 2008 at 9:29 AM, Olivier Gautherot wrote: > Hi folks! > > I'll start off with a general question - it may help at some stage. Is that a correct reading of the facts? ;-) Well, not just tell glib *NOT* to have this fancy COLLATION_FIX feature? I have glib-2.14.2, depending on icu-3.6. I guess if you rollback your=20 icu port to icu-3.6 (so that LIB_DEPENDS clause in the glib finds the=20 icu-3.6 port, not icu-3.8_1) - it should work. Or turning off=20 COLLATION_FIX whatever this means. If you feel adventurous you may try adding --enable-system-icu to the=20 CONFIGURE_ARGS and see what happens. I am updating my ports one-by-one by means of "cvs -qR update -dP" (yes, = my laptop has a copy of CVS...) so I don't usually run into "I have=20 upgraded all ports" problem. But this _is_ a bug and I need to debug my OOO 3.0 build problem before=20 I can tackle into this :-) --Marcin --------------enig8F82C24914E3E5029A425F28 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; If you are going to rebuild OOO, could you just change=20 "--enable-symbols=3DSMALL" to "--enable-symbols=3DTRUE" in=20 files/Makefile.knobs and then, when the ooo crashes preserve the=20 "soffice.bin.core" file and run gdb /usr/local/openoffice.org-2.4.0/program/soffice.bin soffice.bin.core and then run the command: "bt" and send me the output.
