I have installed 7 release on an imac 333 rev D (ofw 3) and my only option for networking is a wifi usb dongle; I have a belkin wireless G network adapter (F5D7050B) to use for that purpose. FreeBSD 7.1, which should enter beta shortly, and 7-STABLE, which you can get by csup, also have support for the built-in ethernet on this machine. -Nathan From owner-freebsd-ppc@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Sep 2 21:08:08 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0407E1065689 for ; Tue, 2 Sep 2008 21:08:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from richard.delaurell@gmail.com) Received: from yx-out-2324.google.com (yx-out-2324.google.com [74.125.44.28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3D1C68FC4F for ; Tue, 2 Sep 2008 21:08:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from richard.delaurell@gmail.com) Received: by yx-out-2324.google.com with SMTP id 8so1391229yxb.13 for ; Tue, 02 Sep 2008 14:08:05 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:received:received:message-id:date:from:to :subject:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:references; bh=0Z0Zr5AoiiH8aoXm4mnn1n6xEDkiZDDizIh1Qcqo048=; b=BSQJxFlHoHsQfEr3WD1+7Hf+Fx9z3ud9bb1mAYM2ClkUT0c6M7763k26xQo295gtfS wdMr8E4bOgpapOzPFnoUTyA1ckn0ycbLG1TIz4HVpHHn6RmcnnNW/B5CiL7jkxWHq5I4 Cij6I6+ntPzJYyRuM5ApiFGoIQfPISJ1JRQRo= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=message-id:date:from:to:subject:in-reply-to:mime-version :content-type:references; b=BrHM/dQ+wjwZdg7er6KeryuvYgkOG/MH4RzKejA56FTYKaGCPBBOJFsgulNZ7bJzZR nB+pL2s7ORt9yufxijVFRJkd65t00cOMou68QkMLwAfBhQA/qTQ8vOgHITIrG3BVUvzY kBDoxHgHOBBUPApMxh0Bc3DXRzg0U3t2htGmk= Received: by 10.142.188.4 with SMTP id l4mr2721699wff.151.1220389685054; Tue, 02 Sep 2008 14:08:05 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.142.253.19 with HTTP; Tue, 2 Sep 2008 14:08:05 -0700 (PDT) Message-ID: <4324dbec0809021408o69bc93fcr98635b50faa0b48b@mail.gmail.com> Date: Tue, 2 Sep 2008 16:08:05 -0500 From: "Richard DeLaurell" To: "Nathan Whitehorn" , freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org In-Reply-To: <48BC281C.5040008@freebsd.org> MIME-Version: 1.0 References: <4324dbec0809011022m20009fd7q20ef2fb9962e72fb@mail.gmail.com> <48BC281C.5040008@freebsd.org> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Cc: Subject: Re: freebsd ppc 7 release w/ ural driver? You were correct, the rum driver does work with the adapter. Works very well in fact. I can ping and ftp, but I have no browser yet; lynx/links/and w3m all refuse to compile, and there seems to be no xorg for fbsd-ppc (yet?). Any suggestions on how to either get a text-browser working, and/or tweak the compiler for ppc/imacG3 are welcome.
