Now the iLo shows 4x512MB 400MHz memory. Since I will add another CPU I need to add 2GB more MEM for it - my question is should all the DIMMs be filled or I can use 1x1GB MEM instead of 4x512MB for the second processor. Do you know if the MEM is ECC - I can't see it in the specs. And of course it runs FreeBSD 6.3 with 7.0 in future plans :) Thanks all. List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 21 Feb 2008 01:32:59 -0000 Hi, I'm trying to install FreeBSD-7.0-RC2/amd64 on HP ProLiant DL320 G4 using serial console. So far I've tried the following using `boot -h' (or `boot -D') from loader prompt: - embedded serial port mapped to com1 (SET CONFIG EMBEDDED SERIAL PORT 1) - virtual serial port mapped to com1 (both via iLO ssh interface and `Remote Serial Console' java applet) (SET CONFIG VIRTUAL SERIAL PORT 1) In all cases sysinstall doesn't show up at all, though I'm getting all kernel messages on serial console. What am I missing here and is such installation scheme supported at all? I've posted dmesg from last boot at http://darklight.org.ru/tmp/dl320.dmesg TIA, Yuri From owner-freebsd-proliant@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Feb 23 11:11:52 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-proliant@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9A9EA16A404 for ; Sat, 23 Feb 2008 11:11:52 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from christias@gmail.com) Received: from wr-out-0506.google.com (wr-out-0506.google.com [64.233.184.232]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4600713C45E for ; Sat, 23 Feb 2008 11:11:52 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from christias@gmail.com) Received: by wr-out-0506.google.com with SMTP id 68so1105410wri.3 for ; Sat, 23 Feb 2008 03:11:51 -0800 (PST) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:received:received:message-id:date:from:reply-to:to:subject:cc:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition:references; bh=2weiIAmRGaPH73yQzaZgf/z5GQlUBNC2DxNLTy9/oXg=; b=CVW8BuG7YzqCwAnh7K0WWjpFCIqIPR8GKw79qkCsAUQhznjqeuu0kjRrF9OsxutMnapddBTwfTye73MyfyUOaQLCG01VZVm3K5jD6yOg9vbHZLpH26mCGoxAz0Gcy6wPHI6WueM49fltAayslHDhh0wdJBDtArbvPY6r7ycLb8o= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=message-id:date:from:reply-to:to:subject:cc:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition:references; b=R7OreoY5xsnq09Y2XS0Qj32KqHGZb3cEvUwe5PoNWGjXr8oTUtX1SGHs+W94Ks7VvIJz+5AqBuiLuDseCG7kky4Kn0LnAy5Vr9pYTDlEoDEXl3oVxyf3e0TeoPDi2frHk8LqMxeDgi7DGP2qyJXH2mxSj/ozZgIRt1lXtKLv384= Received: by 10.151.83.12 with SMTP id k12mr116489ybl.0.1203765111656; Sat, 23 Feb 2008 03:11:51 -0800 (PST) Received: by 10.150.178.5 with HTTP; Sat, 23 Feb 2008 03:11:51 -0800 (PST) Message-ID: Date: Sat, 23 Feb 2008 13:11:51 +0200 From: "Panagiotis Christias" To: Todorov In-Reply-To: <47BC5CBC.5050106@paladin.bulgarpress.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline References: <47BC5CBC.5050106@paladin.bulgarpress.com> Cc: freebsd-proliant@freebsd.org Subject: Re: HP DL385 G1 U/G X-BeenThere: freebsd-proliant@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: p.christias@noc.ntua.gr List-Id: "Technical discussion of FreeBSD on HP ProLiant server platforms."
