The G3, and G4, are not IPMI computers, only the G5 and later. the hpasm-7.50 package says it's only for G5's and later. You will have to use the older package 7.23, i believe, supports older models. The older package, however, doesn't work on FreeBSD 7.0 or 7.1, I've got a DL360 G3 and I've tried those. From reading the archives of this list, I gather the old package stopped working around FreeBSD 6.2. The errors people write in with most often complain about threading libraries. I am very frustrated by this myself, and wish the various people at HP would recompile the older software on the current versions of FreeBSD, but I havn't seen any movement yet. So I run Debian on that particular server until I hear more fortunate news. -Ben From owner-freebsd-proliant@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Nov 25 08:42:12 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-proliant@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 20EEF1065672 for ; Tue, 25 Nov 2008 08:42:12 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from antonio.tommasi@unile.it) Received: from cabis.unile.it (cabis.unile.it [212.189.128.35]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D19448FC14 for ; Tue, 25 Nov 2008 08:42:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from antonio.tommasi@unile.it) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by cabis.unile.it (Postfix) with ESMTP id D2A192E2A9 for ; Tue, 25 Nov 2008 09:25:25 +0100 (CET) X-Virus-Scanned: virus/spam checker at unile.it Received: from cabis.unile.it ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (cabis.unile.it [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id PDS-oTbgHAbx for ; Tue, 25 Nov 2008 09:25:17 +0100 (CET) Received: from titto.unile.it (titto.unile.it [212.189.128.38]) by cabis.unile.it (Postfix) with ESMTP id 974A02E481 for ; Tue, 25 Nov 2008 09:25:17 +0100 (CET) Message-ID: <492BB66D.8030509@unile.it> Date: Tue, 25 Nov 2008 09:25:17 +0100 From: Antonio Tommasi User-Agent: Thunderbird 2.0.0.18 (Macintosh/20081105) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-proliant@freebsd.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-15; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: FreeBSD 7.0 on HP ProLiant DL580 G5 X-BeenThere: freebsd-proliant@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: "Technical discussion of FreeBSD on HP ProLiant server platforms."
