The entire lineup has been released and today we announced the "Frack Room", a space dedicated to casual BSD gaming and hacking sessions. Attendees will be able to plug in their laptops and play from their choice of networked games on our LAN server or hang out and collaborate with other BSD hackers. http://blog.dcbsdcon.org/2009/01/introducing-the-frack-room/ Open registration is available through January 31. Onsite registration will be available the morning of February 5 at the "slacker" rate. http://www.dcbsdcon.org/register.html Hope to see you there! -- Jason Dixon DixonGroup Consulting http://www.dixongroup.net/ From owner-freebsd-advocacy@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Jan 19 23:53:56 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: advocacy@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6D7C91065673 for ; Mon, 19 Jan 2009 23:53:56 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from service@i500.chem.sdu.dk) Received: from i500.chem.sdu.dk (i500.chem.sdu.dk [130.225.157.70]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 097CA8FC1A for ; Mon, 19 Jan 2009 23:53:55 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from service@i500.chem.sdu.dk) Received: from i500.chem.sdu.dk (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by i500.chem.sdu.dk (8.13.1/8.13.1) with ESMTP id n0JKQYtm025234 for ; Mon, 19 Jan 2009 21:26:34 +0100 Received: (from service@localhost) by i500.chem.sdu.dk (8.13.1/8.13.1/Submit) id n0JKQXI6025233; Mon, 19 Jan 2009 21:26:33 +0100 Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2009 21:26:33 +0100 Message-Id: <200901192026.n0JKQXI6025233@i500.chem.sdu.dk> To: advocacy@freebsd.org From: "received@postcard.org" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Cc: Subject: You have just received a virtual postcard from a friend ! It will be preceded by two days of tutorials on 6-7 May. We are now accepting proposals for talks. The talks should be designed with a very strong technical content bias. Proposals of a business development or marketing nature are not appropriate for this venue. If you are doing something interesting with a BSD operating system, please submit a proposal. Whether you are developing a very complex system using BSD as the foundation, or helping others and have a story to tell about how BSD played a role, we want to hear about your experience. People using BSD as a platform for research are also encouraged to submit a proposal. Possible topics include: * How we manage a giant installation with respect to handling spam. * and/or sysadmin. * and/or networking. From the BSDCan website, the Archives section will allow you to review the wide variety of past BSDCan presentations as further examples. Both users and developers are encouraged to share their experiences. The RFP schedule is: 19 Dec 2008 Proposal acceptance begins 19 Jan 2009 Proposal acceptance ends 19 Feb 2009 Confirmation of accepted proposals We were late in sending out reminders, so we'll accept proposals past this deadline. Just submit. Thanks.
