In many cases these ports are failing to compile on some subset of the FreeBSD build environments. The most common problem is that recent versions of -CURRENT include gcc4.2, which is much stricter than older versions. The next most common problem is that compiles succeed on the i386 architecture (e.g. the common Intel PC), but fail on one or more of the other architectures due to assumptions about things such as size of various types, byte-alignment issues, and so forth. In occasional cases we see that the same port may have different errors in different build environments. The script that runs on the build cluster uses heuristics to try to 'guess' the error type to help you isolate problems, but it is only a rough guide. One more note: on occasion, there are transient build errors seen on the build farm. Unfortunately, there is not yet any way for this algorithm to tell the difference (humans are much, much better at this kind of thing.) The errors are listed below. In the case where the same problem exists on more than one build environment, the URL points to the latest errorlog for that type. (By 'build environment' here we mean 'combination of 6.x/7.x/-current with target architecture'.) (Note: the dates are included to help you to gauge whether or not the error still applies to the latest version. The program that generates this report is not yet able to determine this automatically.) portname: sysutils/linux-nero broken because: unfetchable build errors: http://pointyhat.freebsd.org/errorlogs/i386-errorlogs/e.8.20091127121305/linux-nero-3.5.0.1.log (_Nov_30_13:18:20_UTC_2009) overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=sysutils&portname=linux-nero If these errors are ones that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. On the other hand, if you no longer wish to maintain this port (or ports), please reply with a message stating that, and accept our thanks for your efforts in the past. Every effort has been made to make sure that these error reports really do correspond to a port that you maintain. However, due to the fact that this is an automated process, it may indeed generate false matches. If one of these errors fits that description, please forward this email to the author of this software, Mark Linimon , so that he can attempt to fix the problem in the future. Thanks for your efforts to help improve FreeBSD. Our FreeBSD vbox port does not have the rdp code either so it's kinda useless on FreeBSD anyway. > - for those who don't like the initial connection to google.com, here's a > quick&dirty patch: > http://www.frbsd.org/dist/vboxweb-r89.patch-aa Did not know that but it looks like they are using it for determining the machine ip. There are probably better ways to do that so it could be best to create an issue for that. > - and finally why don't you commit your port to the ports tree? Because it's not useful for anything at the moment. So i think it would create more questions than it solves. If the port does not get updated in the next few days, file a PR so that this does not get lost. Be certain that the downloaded file is what you expect however, since the hash and file size is a part of the whole validation routine to prevent malicious software from being inadvertently installed, and make makesum just blindly says "I do not care", so buyer beware ;) Good Luck. -_Dave From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Dec 9 04:50:11 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: emulation@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3DED7106566B; Wed, 9 Dec 2009 04:50:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from edwin@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 153308FC14; Wed, 9 Dec 2009 04:50:11 +0000 (UTC) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3) with ESMTP id nB94oAuJ081243; Wed, 9 Dec 2009 04:50:10 GMT (envelope-from edwin@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from edwin@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3/Submit) id nB94oA0n081239; Wed, 9 Dec 2009 04:50:10 GMT (envelope-from edwin) Date: Wed, 9 Dec 2009 04:50:10 GMT Message-Id: <200912090450.nB94oA0n081239@freefall.freebsd.org> To: edwin@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org, emulation@FreeBSD.org From: edwin@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/141310: www/linux-f10-flashplugin10 www/linux-flashplugin9 unfetchable X-BeenThere: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Development of Emulators of other operating systems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 09 Dec 2009 04:50:11 -0000 Synopsis: www/linux-f10-flashplugin10 www/linux-flashplugin9 unfetchable Responsible-Changed-From-To: freebsd-ports-bugs->emulation Responsible-Changed-By: edwin Responsible-Changed-When: Wed Dec 9 04:50:10 UTC 2009 Responsible-Changed-Why: Over to maintainer (via the GNATS Auto Assign Tool) http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=141310 From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Dec 9 12:29:41 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 35DA4106566C for ; Wed, 9 Dec 2009 12:29:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from luckrill@gmail.com) Received: from mail-pw0-f44.google.com (mail-pw0-f44.google.com [209.85.160.44]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0E6588FC1C for ; Wed, 9 Dec 2009 12:29:40 +0000 (UTC) Received: by pwi15 with SMTP id 15so2385197pwi.3 for ; Wed, 09 Dec 2009 04:29:40 -0800 (PST) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:mime-version:received:in-reply-to:references :date:message-id:subject:from:to:content-type; bh=KCijOahpT+dQoAmfb5TEnulSOs/aiVhAQ0AYoNNNio4=; b=QYHEe+MsDSSCwVUxojiwuCya+Q8sCmx79R7VnvVX9AUA/5ULhmklli5UhI8dg0QVYx 7e2JdPLmtxZlYXMhU/KILkwYxFODl9EDw+2BQeHf1xcHFMt6sL9+OXSaMe4pPMTiN7p6 MjYiNx1+j60KCAPgItG9ltMAZIfVN+lOIvfoQ= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=mime-version:in-reply-to:references:date:message-id:subject:from:to :content-type; b=M3zHDau/N3QNFcOYNHwjlotvYH2bKMxtUfZ6XvTEECLXZoq1K4RRfBLxMrN9suCfNp ziD11G1Mzn808NgG6Z7HMJiL6Mi6jg925Ch1zT2i7YRCUJNxhRmi2l/opOnvJZbTdBs6 eP/p1337AQged0dW8K0kVXI3WDzbhEkQcde9I= MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: by 10.142.249.36 with SMTP id w36mr101333wfh.343.1260361780313; Wed, 09 Dec 2009 04:29:40 -0800 (PST) In-Reply-To: References: Date: Wed, 9 Dec 2009 20:29:40 +0800 Message-ID: From: Rill To: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Subject: Re: FreeBSD8.0, VirtualBox-3.0.51: user cann't use CD/DVD X-BeenThere: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Development of Emulators of other operating systems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 09 Dec 2009 12:29:41 -0000 how to use DVD/CD: wiki: # atapicam kernel module needs to be loaded # HAL has to run at the moment # Permissions to access /dev/xpt0, /dev/cdN and /dev/passN add atapicam in /boot/loader.conf file: atapicam_load="YES" add HAL in /etc/rc.conf hald_enable="YES" add xpt0, cd0 , pass0 in /dev/devfs file: perm cd0 0660 perm xpt0 0660 perm pass0 0660 reboot FreeBSD8.0 now VirtualBox user can use DVD/CD. 2009/12/3 Rill : > Host DVD/CD access: > > I add "perm cd0 0660 " to /etc/devfs > # kldload atapicam > # pw groupmod vboxusers -m user > > Root can use CD/DVD to install OS, but User cann't use CD/DVD to > install OS. I'd like to use Wine on AMD64 but the number of i386 hosts I can build it is less and less every day :) Hosting a port *somewhere* would also speed things up for other people. I could host it at people.freebsd.org (unless I get an objection it's not appropriate) at least temporary. Contact me in private if you're interested. > There are a few TODO items (port options not supported). Any > comments/suggestions are welcome. You've tested it? I'm somewhere around "if it works, that's enough" stage of dealing with ports.
