Have y'all seen this? Followups to this post indicated that this is a much bigger problem. Doug -------- Original Message -------- Subject: INDEX on mirrors Date: Thu, 12 Mar 2009 12:00:58 +0100 From: Dominic Fandrey <kamikaze@bsdforen.de> To: freebsd-ports@freebsd.org It seems that ftp.freebsd.org does load balancing and not all servers are in sync. I have repeatedly downloaded: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-7-stable/INDEX And there seem to be 2 versions around, one from February 27 and one from March 06. I have a shell script that connects to the ftp via netcat and compares the age of the file to a local copy. If the local copy is outdated a fetch is started. Nice idea to safe traffic, but useless if you get the same outdated file, because servers are not in sync. _______________________________________________ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-ports-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" -- This .signature sanitized for your protection
