State-Changed-From-To: open->feedback State-Changed-By: gavin State-Changed-When: Wed Sep 23 08:14:31 UTC 2009 State-Changed-Why: To submitter: by "freeze the box" do you mean that you can not enter anything with the keyboard? If you are using a USB keyboard, can you try to update to more recent 8.0 (we're at RC1 now), you may find that your keyboard works after the panic. You may also find a PS2 keyboard works where USB doesn't, or might find that a serial console works for you. Basically, it would help if, at the "db" prompt, you could give the "bt" command and show the output. Thanks! At reboot I saw that a fsck was running in the background and then I got a ACPI Exception: AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP error coming that would fills up my terminal pretty quickly. I decided to reboot, the fsck went to the end this time and the ACPI error didn't happen. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Sep 24 14:30:01 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-i386@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D14FF1065679 for ; Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:30:01 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id AED8D8FC25 for ; Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:30:01 +0000 (UTC) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3) with ESMTP id n8OEU16V015511 for ; Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:30:01 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3/Submit) id n8OEU11O015507; Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:30:01 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Resent-Date: Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:30:01 GMT Resent-Message-Id: <200909241430.n8OEU11O015507@freefall.freebsd.org> Resent-From: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org (GNATS Filer) Resent-To: freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.org Resent-Reply-To: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org, Arkadiy Kulev Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3BE28106566C for ; Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:23:12 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from nobody@FreeBSD.org) Received: from www.freebsd.org (www.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::21]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 211658FC1D for ; Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:23:12 +0000 (UTC) Received: from www.freebsd.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by www.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3) with ESMTP id n8OENAv7097663 for ; Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:23:10 GMT (envelope-from nobody@www.freebsd.org) Received: (from nobody@localhost) by www.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3/Submit) id n8OENAen097662; Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:23:10 GMT (envelope-from nobody) Message-Id: <200909241423.n8OENAen097662@www.freebsd.org> Date: Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:23:10 GMT From: Arkadiy Kulev To: freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org X-Send-Pr-Version: www-3.1 Cc: Subject: i386/139115: low cpu frequency reported X-BeenThere: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: I386-specific issues for FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 24 Sep 2009 14:30:01 -0000 >Number: 139115 >Category: i386 >Synopsis: low cpu frequency reported >Confidential: no >Severity: critical >Priority: high >Responsible: freebsd-i386 >State: open >Quarter: >Keywords: >Date-Required: >Class: sw-bug >Submitter-Id: current-users >Arrival-Date: Thu Sep 24 14:30:01 UTC 2009 >Closed-Date: >Last-Modified: >Originator: Arkadiy Kulev >Release: 7.2 >Organization: >Environment: FreeBSD w11 7.2-RELEASE FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE #0: Fri May 1 08:49:13 UTC 2009 root@walker.cse.buffalo.edu:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 >Description: I have installed Freebsd 7.2 "out of the box" and noticed, that some of the processes are taking much more time to complete than usual.
