I'm not using jave except that I'd like to be able to build textproc/fop again. The symptom is: # /usr/local/bin/java Error: could not find libjava.so Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment. Instead it was crashing in some xul library. It seems that eclipse uses gecko to render some its components (tool tips...). I tried recompiling all with the latest libxul (libxul-1.9.0.11_1, eclipse was using xulrunner, but it seems only older versions of xulrunner are available in ports). Anyway, after the recompile my eclipse no longer crashes, even if I use the latest jdk (jdk-1.6.0.3p4_13) Brian Gardner wrote: > You should give it a try with openjdk6-b17 pre release 2, it is > available for download here: >=20 > http://www.getsnappy.com/tech-blog/freebsd-tips-tricks/upgrading-freebs= d-port-java-openjdk6-from-b16-to-b17/ >=20 >=20 > On Oct 30, 2009, at 11:57 AM, Patrick Mackinlay wrote: >=20 >> Hello, >> >> I am still getting jvm crashes when using eclipse on my amd64 machine.= I >> reported this some time ago.
