In many cases these ports are failing to compile on some subset of the FreeBSD build environments. The most common problem is that recent versions of -CURRENT include gcc4.2, which is much stricter than older versions. The next most common problem is that compiles succeed on the i386 architecture (e.g. the common Intel PC), but fail on one or more of the other architectures due to assumptions about things such as size of various types, byte-alignment issues, and so forth. In occasional cases we see that the same port may have different errors in different build environments. The script that runs on the build cluster uses heuristics to try to 'guess' the error type to help you isolate problems, but it is only a rough guide. One more note: on occasion, there are transient build errors seen on the build farm. Unfortunately, there is not yet any way for this algorithm to tell the difference (humans are much, much better at this kind of thing.) The errors are listed below. In the case where the same problem exists on more than one build environment, the URL points to the latest errorlog for that type. (By 'build environment' here we mean 'combination of 5.x/6.x/-current with target architecture'.) (Note: the dates are included to help you to gauge whether or not the error still applies to the latest version. The program that generates this report is not yet able to determine this automatically.) portname: multimedia/dirac-reference broken because: bad plist build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=multimedia&portname=dirac-reference If these errors are ones that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. On the other hand, if you no longer wish to maintain this port (or ports), please reply with a message stating that, and accept our thanks for your efforts in the past. Every effort has been made to make sure that these error reports really do correspond to a port that you maintain. However, due to the fact that this is an automated process, it may indeed generate false matches. If one of these errors fits that description, please forward this email to the author of this software, Mark Linimon , so that he can attempt to fix the problem in the future. Thanks for your efforts to help improve FreeBSD. I've tried all front and rear panel connections to no avail. All mixer settings are maxed, but when I run a program through wine that uses sound, pcm gets reset back to 0:0. To solve that issue with 7.1 I had to remove write access to /dev/mixer for all users using devfs.conf. This also no longer works. Verbose dmesg of hdac0 and pcm0 below. Update for devel/boost is ready. Main changes are splitting into several ports and updating to 1.39. No more conflicts with Boost.Python! See http://wiki.freebsd.org/BoostPortingProject for details. You are interested in reviewing changes, follow the next procedure: 1) Unpack the http://alexanderchuranov.com/boost-port/boost-ports-20090609.tar.bz2 tarball into /usr/ports/devel 2) Apply patch http://alexanderchuranov.com/boost-port/boost-2009-05-29-15-47.diff to /usr/ports 3) Remove ports devel/boost and devel/boost-python Sincerely, Alexander Churanov, maintainer of devel/boost From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Jun 11 09:09:42 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 059561065733; Thu, 11 Jun 2009 09:09:42 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from erwin@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CC7F78FC0A; Thu, 11 Jun 2009 09:09:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from erwin@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (erwin@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3) with ESMTP id n5B99fKg001282; Thu, 11 Jun 2009 09:09:41 GMT (envelope-from erwin@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from erwin@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3/Submit) id n5B99fkM001278; Thu, 11 Jun 2009 09:09:41 GMT (envelope-from erwin) Date: Thu, 11 Jun 2009 09:09:41 GMT Message-Id: <200906110909.n5B99fkM001278@freefall.freebsd.org> To: multimedia@freebsd.org, rea-fbsd@codelabs.ru, erwin@FreeBSD.org, portmgr@FreeBSD.org From: erwin@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/132407: [patch] pass TMPDIR around X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 11 Jun 2009 09:09:42 -0000 Synopsis: [patch] pass TMPDIR around State-Changed-From-To: analyzed->closed State-Changed-By: erwin State-Changed-When: Thu Jun 11 09:09:36 UTC 2009 State-Changed-Why: Committed, thanks! Kernel is edited kernel, even though named "GENERIC". Using snd_hda_load="YES" in loader.conf also does not load the module. Module can however be loaded after boot. Bernt, could you also provide kldstat -v |grep -E '(sound|snd)' (without loading the module)? I have the motherboard Asus P5KPL-AM SE and FreeBSD-7.2 release. The sound card is recognized as: pcm0: at cad 0 nid 1 on hdac0 pcm1: at cad 0 nid 1 on hdac0 The mixer options are: Mixer vol is currently set to 90:90 Mixer pcm is currently set to 90:90 Mixer line is currently set to 90:90 Mixer mic is currently set to 90:90 Mixer mix is currently set to 90:90 Mixer rec is currently set to 90:90 Mixer ogain is currently set to 90:90 Recording source: mic However the sound loudness is too low. I tried to plug the headphones to the rear jack as well as to the front jack - but the sound is too low. Then I unplugged the front connectors from the motherboard and plugged the headpho= nes to the rear jack - and still the sound loudness is low. To check the loudness level I tried to play the same MP3 file with - musicpd - mpg123 The complete list of the modules is: Id Refs Address Size Name 1 52 0xc0400000 4fce10 kernel 2 1 0xc08fd000 627c geom_label.ko 3 1 0xc0904000 9f50 if_re.ko 4 1 0xc090e000 1ad88 snd_hda.ko 5 2 0xc0929000 4a59c sound.ko 6 1 0xc0974000 7d88 ukbd.ko 7 1 0xc097c000 41d8 ums.ko 8 2 0xc0981000 1796c agp.ko 9 1 0xc0999000 2354 accf_http.ko 10 1 0xc099c000 7f7c ng_ubt.ko 11 2 0xc09a4000 d9f8 netgraph.ko 12 1 0xc09b2000 3900 u3g.ko 13 1 0xc09b6000 1924 wlan_scan_ap.ko 14 1 0xc09b8000 5200 wlan_scan_sta.ko 15 1 0xc09be000 1db4 msdosfs_iconv.ko 16 2 0xc09c0000 4e80 libiconv.ko 17 1 0xc09c5000 a204 i915.ko 18 2 0xc09d0000 1632c drm.ko 19 1 0xc09e7000 6a44c acpi.ko 20 1 0xc851d000 4000 fdescfs.ko 21 1 0xc86c7000 3000 pflog.ko 22 1 0xc86d2000 35000 pf.ko 23 1 0xc8969000 22000 linux.ko 24 1 0xc8b95000 2000 blank_saver.ko The complete output of dmesg is listed below.
