I have tried the Sil3124, but not with the new siis driver. I tried it with the ata driver; I had the card with 4 ports, and when I tried it with ata, it was exhibiting the same behaviour as the Sil3512 card in the ultra 60. But the Sil3124 card died, and not sure how that happened. I still have it, but the system doesn't see it atall. How can I help? I am willing to do testing utilizing the Sil3512 that I have, and if I can get a hold of a working Sil3124, I can test with that too. I could probably provide remote access to a sparc64 box for testing, but I will have to check on that. Let me know how I can help. Seems it was last working on FreeBSD in the 5.2 days. Sorry for the confusion. According to the 5.2 release notes (http://www.freebsd.org/releases/5.2R/relnotes-sparc64.html) mount_smbfs was working then. mount_portalfs, mount_nwfs, and mount_smbfs were moved from /sbin to /usr/sbin. After that, I can't find information as to when it was determined to not include it in freebsd-sparc64. The more recent mailing list posts I've found all say that it is not supported any more, but I couldn't find one that says why. I'm running freebsd 7.2.STABLE. But SiI3124 is PCI-X and earlier SiI3112/3114 are PCI ones (first is more interesting, as it uses new driver and more functional). Also it would be good to check generic PCI ATA controller, if there is some on-board. -- Alexander Motin From owner-freebsd-sparc64@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Oct 2 10:23:29 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-sparc64@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 07627106568D; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 10:23:29 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from trasz@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D3FBD8FC21; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 10:23:28 +0000 (UTC) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (trasz@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3) with ESMTP id n92ANS6D094067; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 10:23:28 GMT (envelope-from trasz@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from trasz@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.3/8.14.3/Submit) id n92ANSi5094063; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 10:23:28 GMT (envelope-from trasz) Date: Fri, 2 Oct 2009 10:23:28 GMT Message-Id: <200910021023.n92ANSi5094063@freefall.freebsd.org> To: trasz@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-sparc64@FreeBSD.org, trasz@FreeBSD.org From: trasz@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: sparc64/139304: acl_get_link_np() fails with "Invalid argument" on ZFS X-BeenThere: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the Sparc List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 02 Oct 2009 10:23:29 -0000 Synopsis: acl_get_link_np() fails with "Invalid argument" on ZFS Responsible-Changed-From-To: freebsd-sparc64->trasz Responsible-Changed-By: trasz Responsible-Changed-When: Fri Oct 2 10:23:28 UTC 2009 Responsible-Changed-Why: I'll take it. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=139304 From owner-freebsd-sparc64@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Oct 2 12:38:06 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 322DA1065672 for ; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 12:38:06 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jhb@freebsd.org) Received: from cyrus.watson.org (cyrus.watson.org [65.122.17.42]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 053798FC18 for ; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 12:38:06 +0000 (UTC) Received: from bigwig.baldwin.cx (66.111.2.69.static.nyinternet.net [66.111.2.69]) by cyrus.watson.org (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id AD65A46B29; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 08:38:05 -0400 (EDT) Received: from jhbbsd.hudson-trading.com (unknown [209.249.190.8]) by bigwig.baldwin.cx (Postfix) with ESMTPA id CE61E8A021; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 08:38:04 -0400 (EDT) From: John Baldwin To: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org Date: Fri, 2 Oct 2009 07:50:44 -0400 User-Agent: KMail/1.9.7 References: <000501ca42f5$e5957b00$b0c07100$@edu> In-Reply-To: <000501ca42f5$e5957b00$b0c07100$@edu> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Message-Id: <200910020750.44325.jhb@freebsd.org> X-Greylist: Sender succeeded SMTP AUTH, not delayed by milter-greylist-4.0.1 (bigwig.baldwin.cx); Fri, 02 Oct 2009 08:38:04 -0400 (EDT) X-Virus-Scanned: clamav-milter 0.95.1 at bigwig.baldwin.cx X-Virus-Status: Clean X-Spam-Status: No, score=-2.5 required=4.2 tests=AWL,BAYES_00,RDNS_NONE autolearn=no version=3.2.5 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.2.5 (2008-06-10) on bigwig.baldwin.cx Cc: Jason Cox Subject: Re: mount_smbfs X-BeenThere: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the Sparc List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 02 Oct 2009 12:38:06 -0000 On Thursday 01 October 2009 8:18:40 pm Jason Cox wrote: > I just realized that the nabble link > (http://www.nabble.com/mount_smbfs-td3312376.html) in my last email was from > the netbsd mailing list and not the freebsd mailing list. If the kernel bits for it build ok and you can test it then it can be hooked up to the build easily enough. You should be able to build it from src/usr.sbin/mount_smbfs manually for testing purposes. -- John Baldwin From owner-freebsd-sparc64@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Oct 2 14:43:10 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-sparc64@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4A36F1065676; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 14:43:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from rjohanne@piper.hamline.edu) Received: from wnk.hamline.edu (wnk2.hamline.edu [138.192.246.27]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 029798FC17; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 14:43:09 +0000 (UTC) Received: from wnk.hamline.edu (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by wnk.hamline.edu (8.14.2/8.14.2) with ESMTP id n92Egfjp003685; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 09:42:41 -0500 Received: from localhost (rjohanne@localhost) by wnk.hamline.edu (8.14.2/8.14.2/Submit) with ESMTP id n92Egf4S003682; Fri, 2 Oct 2009 09:42:41 -0500 Date: Fri, 2 Oct 2009 09:42:41 -0500 (CDT) From: R J X-X-Sender: rjohanne@wnk To: spawk In-Reply-To: <4AC54A1F.7020508@acm.poly.edu> Message-ID: References: <4ABB971E.5040709@FreeBSD.org> <4AC515C5.3030504@FreeBSD.org> <4AC54A1F.7020508@acm.poly.edu> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed Cc: Alexander Motin , freebsd-sparc64@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: Sil3512 (sii, SATA) driver on Sun Ultra60/blade 1000 X-BeenThere: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the Sparc List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 02 Oct 2009 14:43:10 -0000 Boris, We are talking about PCI sata controllers working in a sparc64 system. The cards in particular, Sil3512 and Sil3124 are PCI cards. Alex, would remote access to a sparc64 be enough for you test on? We could do some coordinations ofcourse.
