Well, where is xl0 and fxp0 connected to? My first bet would be a standard switch, if so try setting both devices to the same MAC address. Otherwise the peers you connect to will send the IP packets to the wrong MAC address and only after a timeout (or a forced push thanks to the ping) will get their ARP cache into shape. My first bet would be a > standard switch, if so try setting both devices to the same MAC address. > Otherwise the peers you connect to will send the IP packets to the wrong > MAC address and only after a timeout (or a forced push thanks to the > ping) will get their ARP cache into shape. lagg should automatically make xl0 and fxp0 appear at the same MAC address. The only time you should have to manually set the MAC address would be on cloned interfaces such as wlan, because the cloned interfaces don't propagate the MAC change down to the interface from which they were cloned. --=20 DE ---559023410-851401618-1254059343=:26181-- From owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Sep 27 14:39:40 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4414B106566B for ; Sun, 27 Sep 2009 14:39:40 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from doconnor@gsoft.com.au) Received: from cain.gsoft.com.au (cain.gsoft.com.au [203.31.81.10]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A5CEA8FC0C for ; Sun, 27 Sep 2009 14:39:39 +0000 (UTC) Received: from inchoate.gsoft.com.au ([118.210.114.190]) (authenticated bits=0) by cain.gsoft.com.au (8.13.8/8.13.8) with ESMTP id n8REda3X029206 (version=TLSv1/SSLv3 cipher=DHE-RSA-AES128-SHA bits=128 verify=NO); Mon, 28 Sep 2009 00:09:36 +0930 (CST) (envelope-from doconnor@gsoft.com.au) From: "Daniel O'Connor" To: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Date: Mon, 28 Sep 2009 00:09:11 +0930 User-Agent: KMail/1.9.10 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; boundary="nextPart1674175.q8gkGua1Nb"; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; micalg=pgp-sha1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <200909280009.28658.doconnor@gsoft.com.au> X-Spam-Score: -2.212 () BAYES_00,RDNS_NONE X-Scanned-By: MIMEDefang 2.63 on 203.31.81.10 Subject: Excessivly cheap USB device issue X-BeenThere: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Production branch of FreeBSD source code List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 27 Sep 2009 14:39:40 -0000 --nextPart1674175.q8gkGua1Nb Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline I have a very cheap USB CF/SD/SM/MS connected to an 8.0-RC1 system and it is detected, ie.. In your case, it isn't seeing the media, just the "drive". I've had to try various combinations of unplugging the adapter from usb, inserting the media then plugging it back in. It does seem to work fairly reliably if you boot with the media already inserted, but it doesn't seem to detect media change at all. robert. -- Robert Noland FreeBSD From owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Sep 27 15:29:23 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7598A106566C for ; Sun, 27 Sep 2009 15:29:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from lehmann@ans-netz.de) Received: from avocado.salatschuessel.net (avocado.salatschuessel.net [78.111.72.186]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with SMTP id C7A058FC18 for ; Sun, 27 Sep 2009 15:29:22 +0000 (UTC) Received: (qmail 6645 invoked by uid 89); 27 Sep 2009 15:02:40 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO kartoffel.salatschuessel.net) (78.111.72.187) by avocado.salatschuessel.net with SMTP; 27 Sep 2009 15:02:40 -0000 Date: Sun, 27 Sep 2009 17:02:44 +0200 From: Oliver Lehmann To: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Message-Id: <20090927170244.0980d699.lehmann@ans-netz.de> X-Mailer: Sylpheed 2.7.1 (GTK+ 2.16.6; amd64-portbld-freebsd7.2) Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: glabel+gmirror X-BeenThere: freebsd-stable@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Production branch of FreeBSD source code List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 27 Sep 2009 15:29:23 -0000 Hi, I try to glabel (tunefs -L) my gmirror RAID-1.
