There are example versions of various types of supfiles in /usr/share/examples/cvsup. FYI, these require some editing in order for you to use them. It's probably also worth pointing out that you're better off using csup instead of cvsup, since the former comes with the FreeBSD system so it's always available. > I'm a Freebsd newbie Welcome. :) Doug -- ... and that's just a little bit of history repeating. -- Propellerheads Improve the effectiveness of your Internet presence with a domain name makeover! http://SupersetSolutions.com/ From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Sun May 16 19:41:27 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: doc@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id F3EE9106566B for ; Sun, 16 May 2010 19:41:26 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from dougb@FreeBSD.org) Received: from mail2.fluidhosting.com (mx22.fluidhosting.com [204.14.89.5]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 854CE8FC27 for ; Sun, 16 May 2010 19:41:26 +0000 (UTC) Received: (qmail 22263 invoked by uid 399); 16 May 2010 19:41:25 -0000 Received: from localhost (HELO ?192.168.0.145?) I'm thinking that we should flip that around now that all supported versions of FreeBSD include csup. In "PPP and Dynamic IP Addresses", line 17 is shown as set ifaddr 10.0.0.1/0 10.0.0.2/0 255.255.255.255 Yet the description says "The last argument (0.0.0.0) tells PPP to start negotiations using address 0.0.0.0 rather than ..." And there really should be a " 0.0.0.0" added to the end of that line; patch attached. As for the omissions, there doesn't seem to be a mention that "papchap" is the default profile name if you enable PPP in rc.conf. I only use PPP rarely, but it seems like the most common cases should be first. Today, wouldn't that be PPP enabled in rc.conf with a dynamic IP address? -Warren Block * Rapid City, South Dakota USA ---902635197-838218655-1274305928=:61595 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII; name=ppp.patch Content-Transfer-Encoding: BASE64 Content-ID: Content-Description: Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=ppp.patch LS0tIGNoYXB0ZXIuc2dtbC5vcmlnCTIwMTAtMDUtMTkgMTU6NDA6NDAuMDAw MDAwMDAwIC0wNjAwDQorKysgY2hhcHRlci5zZ21sCTIwMTAtMDUtMTkgMTU6 NDI6MzkuMDAwMDAwMDAwIC0wNjAwDQpAQCAtNTc5LDcgKzU3OSw3IEBADQog CSAgICA8bGluayBsaW5rZW5kPSJ1c2VycHBwLXN0YXRpY0lQIj5QUFAgYW5k IFN0YXRpYyBJUA0KIAkgICAgQWRkcmVzc2VzPC9saW5rPiwgd2l0aCB0aGUg Zm9sbG93aW5nIGNoYW5nZTo8L3BhcmE+DQogDQotCSAgPHByb2dyYW1saXN0 aW5nPjE3ICAgICAgc2V0IGlmYWRkciAxMC4wLjAuMS8wIDEwLjAuMC4yLzAg MjU1LjI1NS4yNTUuMjU1PC9wcm9ncmFtbGlzdGluZz4NCisJICA8cHJvZ3Jh bWxpc3Rpbmc+MTcgICAgICBzZXQgaWZhZGRyIDEwLjAuMC4xLzAgMTAuMC4w LjIvMCAyNTUuMjU1LjI1NS4yNTUgMC4wLjAuMDwvcHJvZ3JhbWxpc3Rpbmc+ DQogDQogCSAgPHBhcmE+QWdhaW4sIGRvIG5vdCBpbmNsdWRlIHRoZSBsaW5l IG51bWJlciwgaXQgaXMganVzdCBmb3INCiAJICAgIHJlZmVyZW5jZS4gIElu ZGVudGF0aW9uIG9mIGF0IGxlYXN0IG9uZSBzcGFjZSBpcw0K ---902635197-838218655-1274305928=:61595-- From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Fri May 21 15:47:08 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A6105106566B for ; Fri, 21 May 2010 15:47:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jkois@FreeBSD.org) Received: from tux15.hoststar.at (tux15.hoststar.at [213.239.217.242]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 255A38FC08 for ; Fri, 21 May 2010 15:47:07 +0000 (UTC) Received: from [192.168.1.103] (chello084115173108.graz.surfer.at [84.115.173.108]) (authenticated bits=0) by tux15.hoststar.at (8.13.8/8.12.11) with ESMTP id o4LFl962031101; Fri, 21 May 2010 17:47:12 +0200 Message-ID: <4BF6AAF1.9080109@FreeBSD.org> Date: Fri, 21 May 2010 17:46:57 +0200 From: Johann Kois User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; de-DE; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20100129 Thunderbird/3.0.1 ThunderBrowse/3.2.8.1 MIME-Version: 1.0 To: "Tadgh O'Leary" References: In-Reply-To: X-Enigmail-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: http://www.ie.freebsd.org/ X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 21 May 2010 15:47:08 -0000 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 On 22.04.2010 23:12, Tadgh O'Leary wrote: > Not sure if this is for you, but I notice that this (very out of date) copy of the content is available (and is the #1 hit if searching for Freebsd from Ireland).
