We have "system p5 520" (http://developer.novell.com/yes/86385.htm) system, and I found information there that FreeBSD9-Current now support Power5-64. So could we boot our System p5 520 with it? At present, no: the PCI controller is currently unsupported due to historical lack of access to hardware. Andreas Tobler is currently working on a port to a similar machine, if you are willing to wait a little while. It might also help if you were willing to provide remote access to the HMC for a few weeks to a month. -Nathan From owner-freebsd-ppc@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Oct 19 14:35:22 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 560011065673 for ; Tue, 19 Oct 2010 14:35:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gennady.marchenko@itv.ru) Received: from msk.itvgroup.ru (msk.itvgroup.ru [77.246.233.163]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id AB9548FC0C for ; Tue, 19 Oct 2010 14:35:21 +0000 (UTC) Received: (qmail 93275 invoked by uid 2550); 19 Oct 2010 14:35:20 -0000 Received: from 10.0.1.44 by msk.itvgroup.ru (envelope-from , uid 2550) with qmail-scanner-2.02st (clamdscan: 0.91.1/5924. spamassassin: 3.2.4. perlscan: 2.02st. At present I tried to start boot it from CD/DVD and fail with message "AA060011, /No OS image/ was /detected by firmware/. " ISOs I got from http://people.freebsd.org/~nwhitehorn/FreeBSD-9.0-20100715-SNAP-powerpc64/ and http://people.freebsd.org/~nwhitehorn/FreeBSD-9.0-20100910-SNAP-powerpc64/ for both of it the error was same - is it normal or I did something wrong? I'll try to give you access to the HMC if you can give me a link to DOCs "how to setup it" or explain it shortly. Gennady.
