I am getting weird errors compiling other things as well, I noticed today. compiling firefox4.0 produces: configure:2646: checking for c++ configure:2678: checking whether the C++ compiler (c++ -O2 -pipe -march=nocona -O2 -fno-strict-aliasing ) works configure:2694: c++ -o conftest -O2 -pipe -march=nocona -O2 -fno-strict-aliasing conftest.C -pthread -L/usr/local/lib -liconv 1>&5 /var/tmp//ccCzKvGR.o(.eh_frame+0x12): undefined reference to `__gxx_personality_v0' configure: failed program was: #line 2689 "configure" #include "confdefs.h" int main(){return(0);} It appears my system c++ compiler doesn't work properly anymore! On another FreeBSd machine I can compile both packages without problems. Does anyone know what causes this? I attached firefox's log. From: Thomas Rasmussen To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, thomas@gibfest.dk Cc: Subject: Re: ports/156335: www/firefox: Repeatable firefox-4.0_1,1 crash Date: Tue, 12 Apr 2011 21:43:21 +0200 I did some additional testing on my laptop, which is also running 8.2 amd64. I can recreate the problem there, but only when the VLC plugin is installed in Firefox. To recreate you need to install multimedia/vlc with the "VLC Mozilla Plugin" option enabled, so I am not sure if this is a Firefox or a VLC problem. However, if I disable the VLC plugin Firefox doesn't crash, so the problem is definately related to the plugin somehow. The VLC version installed on both machines is vlc-1.1.8,3 From owner-freebsd-gecko@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Apr 15 13:05:10 2011 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-gecko@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7CED3106564A for ; Fri, 15 Apr 2011 13:05:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gofdg-freebsd-gecko@m.gmane.org) Received: from lo.gmane.org (lo.gmane.org [80.91.229.12]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0162E8FC12 for ; Fri, 15 Apr 2011 13:05:09 +0000 (UTC) Received: from list by lo.gmane.org with local (Exim 4.69) (envelope-from ) id 1QAiTN-00086T-Hs for freebsd-gecko@freebsd.org; Fri, 15 Apr 2011 14:50:05 +0200 Received: from l.saper.info ([91.121.203.103]) by main.gmane.org with esmtp (Gmexim 0.1 (Debian)) id 1AlnuQ-0007hv-00 for ; Fri, 15 Apr 2011 14:50:05 +0200 Received: from saper by l.saper.info with local (Gmexim 0.1 (Debian)) id 1AlnuQ-0007hv-00 for ; Fri, 15 Apr 2011 14:50:05 +0200 X-Injected-Via-Gmane: http://gmane.org/ To: freebsd-gecko@freebsd.org From: Marcin Cieslak Date: Fri, 15 Apr 2011 12:44:54 +0000 (UTC) Organization: http://saper.info Lines: 82 Message-ID: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Complaints-To: usenet@dough.gmane.org X-Gmane-NNTP-Posting-Host: l.saper.info X-Face: "MPx|KfVwz7Gg!ayb)rH,hKiCBJXvLY7t+%r1s0Uiw; (%xWn-C-H38.2Oa4JL|4Cx}a"V ~a pL4%i"s20r0%z0yZew?2><1ZfOFF27cPqcAKp?wG+-c&%BgXeJVm[lylYKH?j User-Agent: slrn/0.9.9p1 (FreeBSD) Subject: www/seamonkey2 build with NSS error: No rule to make target libcrmf.a needed by libpipnss.so X-BeenThere: freebsd-gecko@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Gecko Rendering Engine issues List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 15 Apr 2011 13:05:10 -0000 Hello, just fetched a fresh portsnap on my amd64 -CURRENT box (running r219785) and the build fails with: /usr/obj/usr/ports/www/seamonkey2/work/comm-1.9.1/mozilla/config/nsinstall -R -m 644 _xpidlgen/pipboot.xpt ../../../../dist/bin/components gmake[6]: Leaving directory `/usr/obj/usr/ports/www/seamonkey2/work/comm-1.9.1/mozilla/security/manager/boot/public' gmake[6]: Entering directory `/usr/obj/usr/ports/www/seamonkey2/work/comm-1.9.1/mozilla/security/manager/boot/src' /usr/obj/usr/ports/www/seamonkey2/work/comm-1.9.1/mozilla/config/nsinstall -R -m 755 libpipboot.so ../../../../dist/bin/components : ../../../../dist/bin/components/libpipboot.so gmake[6]: Leaving directory `/usr/obj/usr/ports/www/seamonkey2/work/comm-1.9.1/mozilla/security/manager/boot/src' gmake[5]: Leaving directory `/usr/obj/usr/ports/www/seamonkey2/work/comm-1.9.1/mozilla/security/manager/boot' /usr/local/bin/gmake -C ssl libs gmake[5]: Entering directory `/usr/obj/usr/ports/www/seamonkey2/work/comm-1.9.1/mozilla/security/manager/ssl' gmake[6]: Entering directory `/usr/obj/usr/ports/www/seamonkey2/work/comm-1.9.1/mozilla/security/manager/ssl/src' gmake[6]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/obj/usr/ports/www/seamonkey2/work/comm-1.9.1/mozilla/dist/lib/libcrmf.a', needed by `libpipnss.so'.
