Think of it like a "black box", in that everything it needs, it installs, runs, and manages internally. Yes, it uses Postfix, Cyrus IMAP, OpenLDAP, MySQL, SpamAssassin, DSpam, Amavisd-new, etc, etc, etc ... but none of that is exposed to the admin. You just use the Zimbra admin console, and it takes care of everything. --=20 Freddie Cash fjwcash@gmail.com From owner-freebsd-isp@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Apr 20 20:51:30 2011 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EDEE71065672 for ; Wed, 20 Apr 2011 20:51:30 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from khatfield@socllc.net) Received: from smtp136.iad.emailsrvr.com (smtp136.iad.emailsrvr.com [207.97.245.136]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A3CCE8FC0A for ; Wed, 20 Apr 2011 20:51:30 +0000 (UTC) Received: from localhost (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by smtp43.relay.iad1a.emailsrvr.com (SMTP Server) with ESMTP id 2722F2D053F; Wed, 20 Apr 2011 16:36:14 -0400 (EDT) X-Virus-Scanned: OK Received: from dynamic6.wm-web.iad.mlsrvr.com (dynamic6.wm-web.iad1a.rsapps.net [192.168.2.147]) by smtp43.relay.iad1a.emailsrvr.com (SMTP Server) with ESMTP id ED9F02D0305; Wed, 20 Apr 2011 16:36:13 -0400 (EDT) Received: from socllc.net (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by dynamic6.wm-web.iad.mlsrvr.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3CB143F0062; Wed, 20 Apr 2011 16:36:12 -0400 (EDT) Received: by apps.rackspace.com (Authenticated sender: khatfield@socllc.net, from: khatfield@socllc.net) with HTTP; Wed, 20 Apr 2011 16:36:12 -0400 (EDT) Date: Wed, 20 Apr 2011 16:36:12 -0400 (EDT) From: khatfield@socllc.net To: "Odhiambo Washington" MIME-Version: 1.0 Importance: Normal X-Priority: 3 (Normal) X-Type: html In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <1303331772.24621593@apps.rackspace.com> X-Mailer: webmail7.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Cc: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org Subject: RE: FreeBSD Groupware Server X-BeenThere: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Internet Services Providers List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 20 Apr 2011 20:51:31 -0000 =0AI hate recommending control panels but I would say you could do this eas= ily with cPanel all in one install (The control panel with facilitate the i= nstallation of all services). You'll need an SMTP & IMAP server set up separately. /usr/ports/ww/groupoffice Ports have a rather old version of GO, but you could install it just to get the most of the dependencies taken care of, then just download the latest version from http://sourceforge.net/projects/group-office/ and install whatever dependencies are missing. That said, FreeBSD isn't officially supported, so some things do take some tweaking. I recall also that it prefers Postfix...I was using sendmail and the vacation autoresponder was disabled.
