For example, when an adapter is connected to a nearby LAN switch via a short cable, it works days at full speed without infamous freezes. However, when the adapter is used as a WAN interface (long cable towards unknown ISP hardware), it shows a crippled bandwidth, and ifconfig may report OACTIVE flag on ue0. I am using FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE with 8.2-STABLE kernel (17 Apr 2011)
