TaPP '11 will bring together researchers and practitioners doing innovative work in the area of provenance. With the deluge of digital data we are currently experiencing, it has become increasingly important to capture and understand the origins and derivation of data--its provenance. Provenance provides important documentation that is an essential part of the quality of data, and it is essential to the trust we put in, for example, the data we find on the Web and the data that is derived from scientific experiments. The workshop may cover any topic related to theoretical or practical aspects of provenance, including but not limited to: provenance in databases, work flows, programming languages, security, software engineering, or systems; provenance on the Web; or real-world applications of or requirements for provenance. The Program Committee is determined to make TaPP '11 a real workshop at which new ideas are discussed and developed and where the participants can learn how other subjects make use of provenance. While the workshop will have online proceedings, the Committee does not want the workshop to become another "mini-conference" that has nothing but paper presentations. The Committee is eager to receive short papers and vision papers describing challenges for provenance research, brief descriptions of new applications, proposals for mini-tutorials, pie-in-the sky research ideas, and anything that will create a successful workshop. While brief and readable descriptions of research are encouraged, recycled conference submissions are strongly discouraged. Submissions are due April 8, 2011, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. More information and submission guidelines are available at http://www.usenix.org/tapp11/cfpa Tapp '11 will take place June 20-22, 2011, in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, the week after the meeting of ACM SIGMOD in Athens. We look forward to receiving your submissions! Please submit your work by March 14, 2011, at 11:59 p.m. EDT. http://papers.usenix.org/hotcrp/hotcloud11/ HotCloud brings together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry working on cloud computing technologies. There are many challenges in the design, implementation, and deployment of cloud computing, such as automated service provisioning, service monitoring and management, resource elasticity and interference/isolation between users, cloud programming models, economic models, charging and accounting, and service creation using virtual appliances. We believe that cloud computing will benefit from close interaction between researchers and industry practitioners, so that the research can inform current deployments and deployment challenges can inform new research. In support of this, HotCloud will provide a forum for both academics and practitioners to share their experience, leverage each other's perspectives, and identify new/emerging "hot" trends in this important area. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following: * Platform as a service * Software as a service * Infrastructure as a service * Elasticity and availability in a cloud * Multi-tenancy * Storage cloud * Charging models and economics * Power-efficient ("green") computing for clouds * Monitoring, troubleshooting, and failure recovery * Cloud management and configuration * Programming models * Virtual appliance management and composition * Security and privacy in clouds * New applications for clouds * Mobile clouds * Cloud usage scenarios For more details on the submission process, please see the complete Call for Papers at http://www.usenix.org/hotcloud11/cfpb We look forward to receiving your submissions! Hot-ICE '11 will bring together researchers and practitioners working on network and service management in the Internet, cloud, and enterprise domains. The scope of Hot-ICE includes all aspects of network and service management. The program includes sessions on cloud and resource management, service management, network management, and datacenter networking. In addition, a mini-panel will close each session. Check out the full program at: http://www.usenix.org/events/hotice11/tech/ Hot-ICE evolved from earlier Internet Network Management (INM) workshops, which more recently combined with the Workshop on Research on Enterprise Networking (WREN). As such, Hot-ICE, while a new workshop, is serving an established community, but with a broader scope, in recognition of the evolving concerns of the community. Hot-ICE '11 will be co-located with the 8th USENIX Symposium on Networked Systems Design and Implementation (NSDI '11), which will take place March 30-April 1, 2011.
