So, libreoffice should not require to remove them, only to install the same from its bundle you say (?), which actually is a download from a distinct site as shown in my build log: > => Attempting to fetch http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/project/boost/boost/1.48 > .0/boost_1_48_0.tar.bz2 > boost_1_48_0.tar.bz2 100% of 46 MB 240 kBps 00m00s > ===> Extracting for boost-libs-1.48.0 > ... The missing "REQUIRED_BY' file should be there too and include libreoffice and the other ports/packages for the integrity of packages database, and thus any package management utility like portmaster. I just installed povray-3.7.0.r3_2 and here you go, the boost-libs package database was updated: # cat /var/db/pkg/boost-libs-1.48.0/+REQUIRED_BY povray-3.7.0.r3_2 So should libreoffice. Please reopen this PR until libreoffice build and packaging gets fixed. jb From owner-freebsd-office@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Jul 1 22:37:22 2012 Return-Path: Delivered-To: office@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4A3FA10656D1 for ; Sun, 1 Jul 2012 22:37:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from utisoft@gmail.com) Received: from mail-bk0-f54.google.com (mail-bk0-f54.google.com [209.85.214.54]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C3B2F8FC15 for ; Sun, 1 Jul 2012 22:37:21 +0000 (UTC) Received: by bkwj5 with SMTP id j5so2906634bkw.13 for ; Sun, 01 Jul 2012 15:37:20 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20120113; h=mime-version:sender:in-reply-to:references:from:date :x-google-sender-auth:message-id:subject:to:cc:content-type; bh=hn87HONphRZR4RQCcgUQfwrHIHGqloEMkoUzuzD0N/4=; b=Nr2vpTRII0IZUakIv5QZ8XKTUnRVSODTVN++583878BLrk/y2tXSDF00vyKkf8u7By oVnCmcFT9V+GIPQkGU87j1RsCGl6rHv8vR6keyOynGy9oSiaOgOprVD/YIXHHFjRafVG 1nP+4HOSEEj2kAoWdDu/v7ekFkoiHylQLuEdmp+SP82QqJxjvD7Gw6N1jQe4U45AC4Vj xMgXDlgW28YdMbQ2gK5xD9A18/bkWX220bK5EKLKRiaGxXis3+MiP8RCigYIJd/4H8Ay lKLu3u8M3ZxLQgMtlxCdJWpddgXfAFuLcaKdJ0l3ddwRBb0ihnZHsotfvvMWHliMZBXe IjUA== Received: by 10.205.134.4 with SMTP id ia4mr5956881bkc.57.1341182240826; Sun, 01 Jul 2012 15:37:20 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 Sender: utisoft@gmail.com Received: by 10.204.49.87 with HTTP; Sun, 1 Jul 2012 15:36:50 -0700 (PDT) In-Reply-To: <201207012220.q61MKCg8091533@freefall.freebsd.org> References: <201207012220.q61MKCg8091533@freefall.freebsd.org> From: Chris Rees Date: Sun, 1 Jul 2012 23:36:50 +0100 X-Google-Sender-Auth: yPJt9r_17wGXPfiM_o0mhYXae5c Message-ID: To: J B Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Cc: office@freebsd.org Subject: Re: ports/168717: editors/libreoffice: does not compile X-BeenThere: freebsd-office@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Office applications on FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 01 Jul 2012 22:37:22 -0000 This is now superseded by ports/169581 which refers to the current version anyway. And the mail program has no option to set the message-if by hand... I stumpled over the same problem (LibreOffice fails on clang) yesterday and did some investigation. Both the clang of 9-STABLE r237002 and an up to date lang/clang from ports fail with the same problem. When=20 libreoffice-core-3.5.4.2/canvas/source/vcl/services.cxx is compiled, clang++ stumbles over an assertion and crashes. If llvm and clang are build without assertion libreoffice builds successfull, but I don't think that's a good idea... A full transcript of the failing clang command is attached, if it's eaten by the mailinglist a copy can be found here: http://pastebin.com/PB8xdmKU I hope, this helps. After a buildworld 20120704, and noting the loffice package was updated to libreoffice-3.5.2_4.tbz, and thus performing a fresh reinstall of the dozens of base packages in use here from FTP yesterday... the issues do not seem to be present anymore. I did not try to find whether it was the base libreoffice package, its deps, or the world, that resolved it. Thanks are due to whatever fixed it. But, they yesterday I got a system to a state where I decided that it would be easiest to 'pkg_delete -a' and redo all my ports. So, I found myself trying to get the latest libreoffice to build. Trying this, I got: $ clang -v FreeBSD clang version 3.0 (branches/release_30 142614) 20111021 Target: x86_64-unknown-freebsd9.0 Thread model: posix Hmm, what's not what libreoffice is using.... $ /usr/local/bin/clang -v clang version 3.1 (branches/release_31) Target: amd64-portbld-freebsd9.0 Thread model: posix So, ports version is newer than base version for me. So, when the build got stuck on 'canvas', I tweaked that step to use base clang and it worked. Then it got stuck on 'avmedia', again switching to base clang got that step to compile. And, then 'tail_build'....and then I forgot to switch back to clang 3.1, and finished out the build and install using base clang. It'll start, but seems to have issues...though not sure if its my problems in getting a stable X Desktop or not. Maybe I should rebuild it all with base clang.... part of an ongoing effort to reduce the number of problems in the FreeBSD ports system, we periodically schedule removal of ports that have been judged to have outlived their usefulness. Often, this is due to a better alternative having become available and/or the cessation of development on the existing port. In some cases, ports are marked for removal because they fail to build and install correctly from their sources, or otherwise fail in operation. The ports, and the reason and date that they have been scheduled for removal, are listed below. If no one has stepped forward before that time to propose a way to fix the problems (such as via a PR), the ports will be deleted. portname: textproc/linux-aspell description: Spelling checker with better logic than ispell (linux version) maintainer: office@FreeBSD.org deprecated because: expiration date: 2013-02-28 build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=textproc&portname=linux-aspell If this problem is one that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. Why? Also, the port has this: CXXCPP= ${LOCALBASE}/bin/clang++ -E CPP= ${LOCALBASE}/bin/clang -E whereas for CPP at least the wiki says specifically not to do that, but to use clang-cpp instead. Why the discrepancy here? Oddly, the Makefile has commented out code to check for clang in base: #.if !exists(/usr/bin/clang) #BUILD_DEPENDS+= ${LOCALBASE}/bin/clang:${PORTSDIR}/lang/clang #USE_BINUTILS= yes #CXXCPP= clang++ -E #CPP= clang -E #.endif But the version in 9-stable of the past several weeks is 3.1, so, unless the ports version has some important changes, it looks like it is a waste of time to build the port of both clang and llvm. -- R. Why? And the answer to this question is that as of r238026 the LO build fails with the base clang. It would be nice if this were fixed so that users on -current didn't have to have 4 different compilers installed. > Also, the port has this: > > CXXCPP= ${LOCALBASE}/bin/clang++ -E > CPP= ${LOCALBASE}/bin/clang -E > > whereas for CPP at least the wiki says specifically not to do that, but > to use clang-cpp instead. Why the discrepancy here? And the answer to this question is that the port doesn't install clang-cpp. Brooks? Meanwhile, one more request. The LO port does extensive building/packaging in TMPDIR, and one or more of TMP/TEMPDIR. It would be nice if these could be defined as subdirs of WRKDIR so that all of the related files and directories could be wiped out after the build; and more importantly so that the install doesn't fail for those of us with tiny /tmp directories.
