Please try this. I cannot test since I do not have any usb 3.0 controller,
not to mention controllers which support MSI.

This is a public service announcement that for some time already,
the cc -m32 is functional on HEAD amd64.

I believe that all headers important for the usermode application
compilation from the base system, were converted to providing ILP32/LP64
correct definitions on x86. This was mostly done by merging the i386
and amd64 version and moving the resulting common header to include/x86
directory. The bulk of the work was performed by Tijl Coosemans.

The csu object files and libraries are already there in /usr/lib32.
I did not verified if the stock build of gcc is aware of library
location for -m32 though.

We do not have ports support for multiarch, but the base system is
finally provides the neccessary foundation.

You can just drop the if and always do the assignment here, yes? (Minor nit I
know, and the original patch is fine for testing)

The comparision is useless, I removed it in my repo, thank you.

I remember somebody complained that xhci(4) cannot attach on the
Macs with the diagnostic about missing PRT entry for routing the
legacy interrupt. As if Apple does not care about proper legacy
routing. Hopefully, use of MSI-X would help there too.

Here is it:

>Description:
Upon trying to install FreeBSD 9.1 amd64 on a HP Proliant DL580G5 the system freezes/hangs. Last message appearing at the console is
"usbus0: 12Mbps Full Speed USB v1.0"

Already tried the following:
o) booting verbose vs. non-verbose
o) instead of booting into the installer go for single user mode
o) check variable settings - interestingly enough "kern.eventtimer.choice" is empty
o) tried booting with modified "kern.eventtimer.periodic" settings (0 vs. 1)

Whatever I tried the system freezes at exactly the same situation.

I also posted a message to freebsd-questions on June 6 2013 - subject "Panic/reboot while trying to install 9.1 on a HP Proliant DL580G5" but the tips that came back as an answer also didn' help.

For your reference I posted a couple of screenshots so you can see that's going on:

Thanks much in advance for your help.

 Ewald
I see you have 128G of ram in the system , How long did you wait before
you decided the box was locked up ? I ask as the default memory test on 9.1
can take a long time to test the ram . Can you boot of the box with the
following option enabled ? "hw.memtest.tests=0" and let me know what the
result it. Also have you applied the latest HP firmware updates via SPP
2013-02 to the box ? If not can you do this and let us know if this
 improves the situation.
