Chapter 1: News

1°) CASA Confirms External Camera Ruling [http://www.love4aviation.com/Notices/CASA+Confirms+External+Camera+Ruling/x_emc/202/emu/freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org.html].

GoPro wing 90 [http://www.love4aviation.com/Notices/CASA+Confirms+External+Camera+Ruling/x_emc/202/emu/freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org.html]CASA
has confirmed that pilots will need to comply with the regulations of
CASR 21.M to install "GoPro" type cameras on the external surface of an
aircraft. Under CASR 21.M (the old CAR35), a CASA authorised person has
to approve the installation against existing airworthiness standards
before the aeroplane can be flown. "Attaching anything to the external
surfaces of an aircraft, whether it is the wing or not, is considered a
modification," CASA's spokesperson said. "Depending on what is being
attached, it may have an effect on the aerodynamics, structure and
depending on its location it can affect the airspeed/altimeter readings,
etc. Therefore, the alteration to the aircraft needs to be justified
against the applicable airworthiness standard... Read the notice [http://www.love4aviation.com/Notices/CASA+Confirms+External+Camera+Ruling/x_emc/202/emu/freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org.html].

2°) Testimonial-Jonathan Devine-Dynaero RAAus "ute" [http://www.love4aviation.com/Dynaero/Testimonialsindex/Jonathan+Devine-RAAus+ute/x_emc/202/emu/freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org.html].

Jonathan Devine June 2013 x90 [http://www.love4aviation.com/Dynaero/Testimonialsindex/Jonathan+Devine-RAAus+ute/x_emc/202/emu/freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org.html]I
live in Western Australia and frequently travel long distances into
remote areas for work. I have been flying a small high wing for several
years, and it has done well, however I struggled to get the carrying
capacity I needed, having to feed bulky items through a small gap between
the seats, and then being near MTOW one up with full fuel. I looked
around for an aircraft that could: Carry additional weight, (at least an
extra 80 kg)- Have a reliable engine for flying in remote areas-Be
comfortable cruising at 10,000 feet at a respectable rate-Be able to
handle 35-40 degree days-Be able to carry equipment and additional fuel
easily-Have a robust undercarriage for landing on rougher strips-Be
registered in RAA so I could maintain myself-Looks good (approaching
mid-life crisis age, but not there yet). Read the testimonial [http://www.love4aviation.com/Dynaero/Testimonialsindex/Jonathan+Devine-RAAus+ute/x_emc/202/emu/freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org.html].
