Then enter the following commands:..." I run FreeBSD 9.2, and the 'boot into single user mode' option shows as #2 on the loader menu. Option #4 is 'Reboot'. Did the option numbering change since the example was written? If the option numbering does chnage between releases, maybe the mention of the option number should be removed and the option text used instead. The numbering did change since that example was written, though I believe there is strong pressure to not repeat such a change. (The numbering change was part of a big rewrite in how the loader interface presented itself.) I will try to update the text to be correct for the current numbering scheme. Agreed. However, this is "contrib" software from an external source, and we generally prefer to get them patched upstream to avoid having to maintain local patches. For what it is worth, lagg(4) for wired- and wireless connections works fine for me. In my network, wireless and wired setup is done from a FreeBSD firewall with an em(4) and ath(4) device configured as a bridge(4) interface. I have the following scripts that handle the lease renewals: --- /etc/start_if.lagg0 begin --- #!/bin/sh /bin/pkill dhclient /usr/local/sbin/dhclient -6 -lf /var/db/dhclient6.leases -pf \ /var/run/dhclient6.lagg0.pid lagg0 2>&1 >/dev/null & /usr/local/sbin/dhclient -4 -lf /var/db/dhclient.leases -pf \ /var/run/dhclient.lagg0.pid lagg0 2>&1 >/dev/null & --- /etc/start_if.lagg0 end --- --- /etc/start_if.lagg0 begin --- #!/bin/sh /bin/pkill dhclient --- /etc/start_if.lagg0 end --- When I switch from wired to wireless or the reverse, there is a brief connection loss (about 3 seconds). I have added some fonts selection changes as well. --=20 VZ --------------070905080808080803070806 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; name="global.css.diff.txt" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="global.css.diff.txt" SW5kZXg6IGdsb2JhbC5jc3MKPT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09 PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PT09PQotLS0gZ2xvYmFsLmNzcwkocmV2aXNp b24gNDMzNDQpCisrKyBnbG9iYWwuY3NzCSh3b3JraW5nIGNvcHkpCkBAIC03LDggKzcsOCBA QAogYm9keSB7CiAgIG1hcmdpbjogMDsKICAgcGFkZGluZzogMDsKLSAgZm9udC1mYW1pbHk6 IHZlcmRhbmEsIHNhbnMtc2VyaWY7Ci0gIGZvbnQtc2l6ZTogNjklOworICBmb250LWZhbWls eTogVmVyZGFuYSwgIkRlamFWdSBTYW5zIiwgIkJpdHN0cmVhbSBWZXJhIFNhbnMiLCBHZW5l dmEsIHNhbnMtc2VyaWY7CisgIGZvbnQtc2l6ZTogMTAwJTsKICAgY29sb3I6ICMwMDA7CiAg IGJhY2tncm91bmQ6ICNmZmYgdXJsKCIuLi9pbWFnZXMvaGRyX2ZpbGwucG5nIikgcmVwZWF0 LXg7CiB9CkBAIC03MSwxMyArNzEsMTMgQEAKIH0KIAogcHJlIHsKLSAgZm9udC1mYW1pbHk6 IG1vbm9zcGFjZTsKLSAgZm9udC1zaXplOiAxLjRlbTsKKyAgZm9udC1mYW1pbHk6ICJEZWph VnUgU2FucyBNb25vIiwgIkx1Y2lkYSBDb25zb2xlIiwgIkxpYmVyYXRpb24gTW9ubyIsIE1v bmFjbywgbW9ub3NwYWNlOworICBmb250LXNpemU6IDEuMmVtOwogfQogCiB0dCB7Ci0gIGZv bnQtZmFtaWx5OiBtb25vc3BhY2U7Ci0gIGZvbnQtc2l6ZTogMS40ZW07CisgIGZvbnQtZmFt aWx5OiAgIkRlamFWdSBTYW5zIE1vbm8iLCAiTHVjaWRhIENvbnNvbGUiLCAiTGliZXJhdGlv biBNb25vIiwgTW9uYWNvLCBtb25vc3BhY2U7CisgIGZvbnQtc2l6ZTogMS4wZW07CiB9CiAK IHN0cm9uZywgYiB7Cg== --------------070905080808080803070806-- --jObGP2knFo79AJsW8bmuN87Q8gqgrjgbt Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.20 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iF4EAREIAAYFAlKw1mwACgkQE3+v/RpUDYBJlgD/QdES8CfD6pCILL7yXcOT76OY cFQGW/lwiHZjT108ia4A/RPHdz41l+AL1WLKckGedjzqmG8IuaTs1Jzng9pRw7tH =oxq1 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --jObGP2knFo79AJsW8bmuN87Q8gqgrjgbt-- From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Dec 18 00:25:13 2013 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) (using TLSv1 with cipher ADH-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4A01C629 for ; Wed, 18 Dec 2013 00:25:13 +0000 (UTC) Received: from mx1.scaleengine.net (beauharnois2.bhs1.scaleengine.net [142.4.218.15]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1E8F11CDD for ; Wed, 18 Dec 2013 00:25:12 +0000 (UTC) Received: from [10.1.1.1] (S01060001abad1dea.hm.shawcable.net [50.70.108.129]) (Authenticated sender: allan.jude@scaleengine.com) by mx1.scaleengine.net (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 8B6F24D781 for ; Wed, 18 Dec 2013 00:25:11 +0000 (UTC) Message-ID: <52B0EB67.1050002@allanjude.com> Date: Tue, 17 Dec 2013 19:25:11 -0500 From: Allan Jude User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/24.2.0 MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Subject: Download page improvements X-Enigmail-Version: 1.6 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="XgRFCNARhmurPeDThODSwDEfPbA7R596r" X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.17 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 18 Dec 2013 00:25:13 -0000 This is an OpenPGP/MIME signed message (RFC 4880 and 3156) --XgRFCNARhmurPeDThODSwDEfPbA7R596r Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="------------000909060007050003040604" This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------000909060007050003040604 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Attached find a patch for f.o/where.html (the download page). It adds direct links to the various .iso and removes the 'distributions' link where is not of much use to most users who wouldn't know how to find it on the FTP site them selves. This makes the usb memory stick images much easier to find for the average user. It also adds links to the handbook instructions for writing a USB stick or CD/DVD image. --=20 Allan Jude --------------000909060007050003040604 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1252; name="doc_where.diff" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="doc_where.diff" Index: head/en_US.ISO8859-1/htdocs/where.xml =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D --- head/en_US.ISO8859-1/htdocs/where.xml (revision 43344) +++ head/en_US.ISO8859-1/htdocs/where.xml (working copy) @@ -40,94 +40,127 @@ =20
