Currently packages are available for FreeBSD 8 and 9 [3]. For previous version of i386-wine replace 'latest' with the version number. To install the port try one of the following options: Method 1 (Quick and easy) ========================= If wine already installed: # pkg delete i386-wine For FreeBSD 8 (as root): # pkg add http://alturl.com/ih93t For FreeBSD 9 (as root): # pkg add http://alturl.com/opzyj Method 2 (Multi-repo mode: secure, preferred) ============================================= To setup the repo and do initial port install (as root): # mkdir -p /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos # fetch -o /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos \ http://people.freebsd.org/~dbn/repos/wine.conf # fetch -o /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos \ http://people.freebsd.org/~dbn/repos/wine.cert # pkg update # pkg install -r wine i386-wine Please consider editing /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/wine.conf to use one of the many available mirrors[2]. To install an older version of wine change the suffix "latest" to a version listed on the wiki[1]. To update already installed port (as root) # pkg upgrade -r wine Regards David [1] See the wiki for more details: http://wiki.FreeBSD.org/i386-Wine [2] See your local FreeBSD mirror under ports/local-distfiles/dbn/i386-wine- devel/${ABI}/latest where ABI=freebsd:X:x86:64 for X in {8, 9}. For a list of mirrors please see http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/mirrors-ftp.html [3] Packages are built from FreeBSD 8.3 and 9.1 respectively. --nextPart19896492.Vv1If3fJnx Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (FreeBSD) iEYEABECAAYFAlHR5P4ACgkQUaaFgP9pFrLSEACeO1f6GdDzPVkIX+CsNvRutwGJ KWAAoIhkNbUHrch55yizyTDhYTFZbtvg =pTRR -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart19896492.Vv1If3fJnx-- From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Jul 2 15:59:36 2013 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 33BEEE19 for ; Tue, 2 Jul 2013 15:59:36 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from shuriku@shurik.kiev.ua) Received: from graal.it-profi.org.ua (graal.shurik.kiev.ua [193.239.74.7]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E4E9D172F for ; Tue, 2 Jul 2013 15:59:35 +0000 (UTC) Received: from [217.76.201.82] (helo=thinkpad.it-profi.org.ua) by graal.it-profi.org.ua with esmtpa (Exim 4.80.1 (FreeBSD)) (envelope-from ) id 1Uu2jL-0004a9-Gi for freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org; Tue, 02 Jul 2013 18:42:59 +0300 Message-ID: <51D2F4FC.5080607@shurik.kiev.ua> Date: Tue, 02 Jul 2013 18:42:52 +0300 From: Alexandr User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; FreeBSD amd64; rv:17.0) Gecko/20130630 Thunderbird/17.0.7 MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-SA-Exim-Connect-IP: 217.76.201.82 X-SA-Exim-Mail-From: shuriku@shurik.kiev.ua X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.3.2 (2011-06-06) on graal.it-profi.org.ua X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-1.0 required=5.0 tests=ALL_TRUSTED autolearn=unavailable version=3.3.2 Subject: wine on 64-bit freebsd X-SA-Exim-Version: 4.2 X-SA-Exim-Scanned: Yes (on graal.it-profi.org.ua) X-BeenThere: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.14 Precedence: list List-Id: Development of Emulators of other operating systems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 02 Jul 2013 15:59:36 -0000 Hello! Can anyone tell me - do I need full 32-bit environment to run windows applications as it described at https://wiki.freebsd.org/Wine? Without 32-bit environment with wine-fbsd64-1.5.24,1 I can run a few simple applications (that don't need DirectX), but the most - no, even 15-years old games. Both 'make index' and 'find /usr/ports -mindepth 2 -maxdepth 3 -name Makefile\* | xargs grep qt33' returned nothing after applying the patch at [1] locally. This does however result in the situation where there is no Linux QT port at all, time to port QT4 ?
