Good idea, Marcus. This is something that was in my todo. I'm now
preparing plone update, so let's do that right after that will be done.
I need about three days to finish.

Great! A complete patch that replaces USE_ZOPE with USES=zope on all
ports can be found at http://people.freebsd.org/~mva/uses_zope.patch.

Feel free to commit (after testing ;-) or integrate it with the plone
update at your convenience. Otherwise let's do this right after your
plone upgrade.

Cheers
Marcus

The regression should be fixed within the latest update of
http://people.freebsd.org/~mva/python_mod_plist.diff.

The local tree under ${PREFIX} should be respected for most of the
cases. Since the conversion to PYDISTUTILS_AUTOPLIST has to be done
individually on a per-port basis, issues with certain ports can be fixed
on demand later on.

If there are no concerns, both knobs will be committed tomorrow or the
day after.

Thanks, it works fine.

I made new diff after recent change in Mk/bsd.python.mk

Unfortunately it does not. easy_install has the tendency to create .pth
and site.py* files in the stagedir, causing leftovers that we are
currently unable to handle.

=46rom the recent discussion with some of the distutils people and
according to some bug reports to distribute and setuptools, there is
currently no guaranteed way not to break things, if we work around that
issue (there is a -m switch to easy_install, but that forces eggs to
explicitly add a requirement into their import lines).

I'm afraid to say that this might take some more time to sort out.

Cheers
Marcus

Can you point at some port that it doesn't work?

Thanks
