The "acpiconf -i0" command that is shown on this photo is run AFTER the cable has been connected. If you take a look at the line saying "State:" you see the incorrect value "discharging". The only difference is that I'm on a MacBook Pro from 2011, running in UEFI mode on FreeBSD 11.
