I'm getting an error on install of the databases/py-sqlite3:

===>  Installing for py34-sqlite3-3.4.3_6
===> Checking if py34-sqlite3 already installed
===>   Registering installation for py34-sqlite3-3.4.3_6
pkg-static: Plist error, directory listed as a file:
lib/python3.4/lib-dynload/_sqlite3-0.0.0-py3.4.egg-info

*** Error code 74

According to the Makefile, this port uses autoplist:

USE_PYTHON=     autoplist

I ran make makeplist myself, and got the following:
%%PYTHON_LIBDIR%%/lib-dynload/_sqlite3-0.0.0-py%%PYTHON_VER%%.egg-info/PKG-INFO
%%PYTHON_LIBDIR%%/lib-dynload/_sqlite3-0.0.0-py%%PYTHON_VER%%.egg-info/SOURCES.txt
%%PYTHON_LIBDIR%%/lib-dynload/_sqlite3-0.0.0-py%%PYTHON_VER%%.egg-info/dependency_links.txt
%%PYTHON_LIBDIR%%/lib-dynload/_sqlite3-0.0.0-py%%PYTHON_VER%%.egg-info/top_level.txt
%%PYTHON_LIBDIR%%/lib-dynload/_sqlite3.so

I installed the pkg-plist created by makeplist, and then removed the
autoplist from the Makefile. Everything built and installed correctly.

Is there a bug in autoplist?

Bug 199021: databases/py-sqlite3: Fails to install

--- Description ---
I'm getting an error on install of the databases/py-sqlite3:

pkg-static: Plist error, directory listed as a file:
lib/python3.4/lib-dynload/_sqlite3-0.0.0-py3.4.egg-info

*** Error code 74

According to the Makefile, this port uses autoplist:

USE_PYTHON=3D	autoplist

I ran make makeplist myself, and got the following:
%%PYTHON_LIBDIR%%/lib-dynload/_sqlite3-0.0.0-py%%PYTHON_VER%%.egg-info/PKG-=

%%PYTHON_LIBDIR%%/lib-dynload/_sqlite3-0.0.0-py%%PYTHON_VER%%.egg-info/top_=

%%PYTHON_LIBDIR%%/lib-dynload/_sqlite3.so

I installed the pkg-plist created by makeplist, and then removed the
autoplist from the Makefile. Everything built and installed correctly.

Is there a bug in autoplist or just in this port?=

Hi there,

you've both committed versions of the same python package, with different
requirements, to the portstree.

www/pycarddav
deskutils/py-pycarddav

I suggest we merge the ports Makefiles' requirements,
so that we end up with seven dependencies including click and sqlite3 (which
are only in one variant of the two Makefiles, each), and that we merge this
into the www/pycarddav Makefile, all the while moving it to

deskutils/py-pycarddav.

That location is both compliant with the naming scheme we use, and fits in =
with
the other tools in that category.

Can you take it from there?

Regards,
Johannes

Hi,

I am investigating converting my ports to concurrent however I am not sure how
concurrent is supposed to work:

I looked in /usr/ports/Mk and only found a documentation reference to
'concurrent'. Setting USE_PYTHON=concurrent doesn't appear to actually change
any behaviour.

Please could you explain this for me?

Regards

Bug 199050: lang/python34: Fix build with LibreSSL without NLS
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=199050

--- Description ---

Patch to fix build

The update to 3.4.3 fixed the build with LibreSSL by adding 'configure' tests
for RAND_egd. However, when building without NLS, 'configure' detects RAND_egd
from base OpenSSL and enables RAND_EGD support, but then results in a linker
failure.

The attached patch resolves this issue by unconditionally adding
"-L${LOCALBASE}/lib" to the build.

Thanks for the heads-up Johannes.

Happy to review/approve a patch if you'd like to take care of it, with a
couple of notes:

- py-pycarddav is the correct name, I'm not sure how I committed it
without (pointyhat++)

- I dont believe deskutils is the correct primary category (It's a
protocol, based on WebDAV)

- I'd be merging changes to www/pycarddav, and include a rename of that
port. www/pycarddav landed earlier and is the more correct category imo.

Thanks!

Let me not agree with you here. CardDAV is a protocol, right, and the
mentioned port is a utility for everyday desktop usage. I'm using it
right now on my machine for storing my contact lists.

=46rom =E2=80=9C/usr/ports/Mk/Uses/python.mk=E2=80=9D:

concurrent - Indicates that the port can be installed for
                  different python versions at the same time. The port
                  is supposed to use a unique prefix for certain
                  directories using USES=3Duniquefiles:dirs (see the
                  uniquefiles.mk Uses for details about the
                  directories), if set to yes. Binaries receive an
                  additional suffix, based on ${PYTHON_VER}.

                  The values for the uniquefiles USES are set as
                  follows:

                      UNIQUE_PREFIX=3D  ${PYTHON_PKGNAMEPREFIX}
                      UNIQUE_SUFFIX=3D  -${PYTHON_VER}

                  If the port is installed for the current default
                  python version, scripts and binaries in

                      ${PREFIX}/bin
                      ${PREFIX}/sbin
                      ${PREFIX}/libexec

                  are linked from the prefixed version to the
                  prefix-less original name, e.g.
                  bin/foo-2.7 --> bin/foo.

So it seems that any port that only installs modules in
=E2=80=9C/usr/local/lib/pythonX.Y/site-packages/=E2=80=9D could be labeled =
as concurrent as-is.

If your port wants to put things in DOCSDIR, EXAMPLESDIR, DATADIR, WWWDIR or
ETCDIR, you should add =E2=80=9CUSES=3Duniquefiles:dirs=E2=80=9D to your po=
rt's Makefile.

Also read =E2=80=9C/usr/ports/Mk/Uses/uniquefiles.mk=E2=80=9D.

Thank you for your explanation, to confirm:

So 'concurrent' shouldn't actually change any logic, but act as a flag =

Hi,

No, it isn't used as a flag for build tools.
USE_PYTHON=3Dconcurrent or USES=3Duniquefiles should be used to install
simultaneously a port for 2 versions of python, when those 2
installations would conflict otherwise (e.g. would install files with
the same name in ${PREFIX}/bin or same directory name for ${DOCSDIR}).

Ports that only install in ${PREFIX}/lib/pythonX.Y don't need anything.

Cheers,

Antoine

--- Comment #11 from Ruslan Makhmatkhanov <rm@FreeBSD.org> ---
Hi guys, sorry for late response. "plone" isn't needed in PKGNAMEPREFIX.
The port builds and installs fine, but it lacks required dependencies, so it's
unclear to me how it supposed to work. Here is the dependencies listed in
setup.py:

install_requires=['setuptools',
                  'Jinja2',
                  'plone.portlet.static',
                  'collective.templateengines',
                  'feedparser' # needed by RSS tag, could be softdependency
                  ],

We have no such thing as "collective.templateengines" in the ports tree, so you
need port it too to make things work.

Hi all,

Should there be a python team entry for this cycle's status report? It
looks like there was one six months ago, but we didn't get one three
months ago, so this entry could potentially cover all six months' worth of
work.

Thank you,

Ben
